We had a great time watching the birds and playing outside! I'd definitely recommend this property after the flowers bloom because I can only imagine how much prettier it is. Host was responsive and checked in daily. We were a little shocked by the extra cost for bedrooms but if you read the description it is in there!
This place was just what we needed - a dog friendly home with enough beds for our group of 8 to lay our heads after a nighttime show at Tanglewood. The house is a quiet retreat well off the beaten path. Robb is a kind and thorough host with excellent knowledge of local shops, vendors, and places to visit (try the cheeses!!).
We had three adults, a dog, and 6 month old baby for the weekend, and enjoyed our visit. The owners communicated well and very very welcoming and hospitable to all of us, including the dog! Also gave us great food recommendations for the area. Would definitely return in the future!
Property served our needs very well. Comfortable and well-maintained. Owner lives next door and came to greet and orient us upon arrival and to say goodbye when we left. Would stay here again.

IMPORTANT HEADS UP TO HOSTS. I initially gave Rick a very low star rating. When he saw that, he immediately got in touch, asking what was wrong. We had a detailed exchange. After I explained all that had been problematic, he apologized sincerely. (And even with grace and humor.) After our conversation, I would be comfortable renting to him again.
Cute, eclectic house with everything you would ever need. The maple room bed is super comfy and has a huge bathroom. Fresh flowers and shoveled path were a nice welcome on a dark, dreary, snowy day.
Robb was a very gracious and sweet host with great info to share about the area and answered all my questions before and after checking in. I loved the house and what it had to offer. Would love to come back.
Thank you Robb!
We did not go because of the weather. But the manager of the property was very nice to us and understand that. We are really looking forward to book this property again.
A comfortable, country get-away with all the conveniences of home. The kitchen was well stocked. Robert is a very generous and attentive host. Stephentown proved to be an undiscovered (to us, at least) gem.

Noel, Linda and the dogs were perfect guests. I truly enjoyed our interactions. No one has ever left the house cleaner! They have my highest recommendation, at least 10 stars!
We stayed for a weekend to go to Tanglewood which was about a 30 minute drive. Listing is on point. Beds were comfortable. House was comfortable and clean. It is a bit remote but don't be intimidated. The owner was very helpful and responsive to questions.
Robb doesn't just rent you a place; he hosts your visit. He showed us how essential things worked in the house, and was happy to offer any information we requested about where to go/ how to find things. The couches are super comfy -- so you could fall asleep there -- but the bed was great, too. I'm no coffee expert, but the coffee he left for us at the house was so good, I'm still thinking about it.

Monika et. al. could not have been better guests. The highest compliment from any host is: I hope they return. And I do.
Comfortable accommodations in an out of the way location. By far, the best part was the owner. We enjoyed every conversation that we had with Robb, a Renaissance man in the true sense. Chatted with him about his music, art, wine, books, travels and a friend's cookbooks (Dede Wilson)!! We may just have to return. If you like a good conversationalist with a colorful legacy, we recommend a visit to Stephentown with Robb as your host.

Why they chose this property
This is a beautiful and extremely private spot. In the woods on the very top of the mountain. GREAT WATER. Plenty of room outdoors to roam. The spring is exhilarating, the summer is lush, and the winter - my favorite time on the mountain..
For a private get-away, or a family gathering, it is a perfect place. Woofers welcome!
What makes this property unique
Dirt road - ten(?) cars a day and that is a busy day for traffic. Big fire pit in the lower yard. Mountaintop air. Virtually no noise here. Your host loves to pick delicious wild mushrooms - which are abundant up here. In season I can bring you chanterelles, porcini + many others - or if you'd like, take you can join me for a mushroom walk.
My favorite benefit - nothing fancy here, just a lot of put your feet up and relax furnishings. Comfortable and cozy.
