La posición poco común de la casa en un gran claro en medio de bosques y rodeado de paisajes vírgenes a ras de la vida silvestre - pero en poca distancia en coche de todo lo que uno necesita o quiere ver en esta bella región francesa de gran tradición e historia - hace que sea un ideal lugar para los amantes de la naturaleza, los deportistas o incluso creativas.

HIDE-AWAY
Bueno ... y no olvidar los que anhelan la más relajante, invigourating, perezoso, sin estrés, lugar secreto, un lugar sin exigencias, sólo la paz, el aire cristalino y canto de los pájaros - pero zumbando vida y la gente sólo alguna vez cuando usted ganas.

PUEBLO
Lugane está situado a sólo 2. 5 km del antiguo pueblo de Sos (sí, en realidad) en un interesante rincón del Lot-et-Garonne (Gascogne, Aquitania), que llega a otras regiones colindantes. Toda la zona y, en particular, este pueblo tiene fuertes raíces romanas. Esta es la región de D'Artagnan de los mosqueteros, foie gras y Armagnac.

REGIONES
Las interminables, pequeños bosques poblados de la región de las Landas, con sus playas de la costa del Atlántico se extiende todo el camino desde Burdeos hasta más allá de Biarritz, comienzan a sólo unos minutos de distancia.
En la otra dirección te encuentras ya después de unos minutos en coche entre las colinas de la región de Gers (la "Toscana" de Francia) dispersos con pequeñas, aldeas y granjas antiguas, vistas castillos y de largo alcance de los viñedos y campos de girasoles - y en tiempo claro los Pirineos.
Las grandes montañas de los Pirineos están a sólo 1. 5 horas de distancia, incluso la costa mediterránea sólo alrededor de 3 horas. Así, Lugane está posicionado centralmente entre regiones de gran belleza e historia, el mar, las montañas ... y varios aeropuertos de su elección en contraste.
Los verdes fértiles de esta región rural son sin tocar, a veces, como si estuviera en otro siglo. No hay muchos turistas, por lo que la gente está siendo amable con un toque entrañable, pasado de moda de la cortesía en otro lugar perdido.

NATURALEZA
Pasado nuestros bosques hay muchos viñedos, campos de semillas de colza en flor en primavera, después girasoles en todas partes por semana con halcones dando vueltas en el cielo. Hay conciertos de ranas por el camino en el lago por uno de nuestros senderos del bosque, donde también se puede ver la grúa tímida extraña antes de un refrescante baño.
Los ruiseñores cantan en todas partes hasta bien entrada la primavera antes de que los veranos pacíficas calientes con la naturaleza exuberante y vibrante. Otoños colores cálidos y largos se dispersan con una abundancia de setas y castañas comestibles, el clima a menudo agradable hasta finales de octubre. Las semanas realmente fríos del invierno son pocos y crujientes pero tranquila y contemplativa, precioso por el fuego.
A lo largo de casi todo el año una gran variedad de aves se puede escuchar en el bosque y campos, cucos y búhos durante día y noche, tímido roam jabalíes en todo el bosque en la noche y ciervos pastando en frente de las ventanas al amanecer o al atardecer.

PAZ…
... O zumbido ... Hay mucho para elegir. Durante todo el verano, la región está llena de vida, la verdadera alegría del vivir de los franceses y todo el mundo está disfrutando de la convivencia, un montón de buena comida y el vino rústico durante la tradición aún sostenida de tener fiestas del pueblo verano acompañados de innumerables eventos y actuaciones. También diminuta Sos logra tener su propia fête plus mercado una gran de productor todos los miércoles por la noche durante seis semanas, con música en vivo, mesas largas, largas donde la gente se reúne para la hora de hablar animadamente y disfrutar del vino y manjares locales desde las gradas alrededor el mercado.
Así que usted tiene la opción de realizar una gran variedad de excursiones y actividades o deportes, visitar fiestas o espectáculos, conciertos, comer en restaurantes - o para retirarse a la tranquilidad de su lugar en el bosque, relajarse - o en recuperación - lejos de él todas.

Un petit coin de paradis...

Un petit coin de paradis au fond des bois, dans une ancienne demeure, un logement de charme décoré avec tout le gout d'une hôtesse délicate et attentionnée , jardinière émérite, peintre et sculptrice. Presque une ferme avec ses poules, ses oies ( les oeufs, delicieux, les pommes et les chataignes, merci!), mais aussi ses fleurs. Une de nos plus belles experiences, nous avons passé un séjour de rêve,à recommander à tous les amoureux de nature, de petits villages à découvrir au fil des randonnées et ..de gastronomie.

A beautiful house in an idyllic bucolic setting

If you like quietness and tranquility in a rural setting combined with comfort and cosines then this is the house for you. Don't miss an opportunity to stay here. The setting for this great house is fabulous. The large bedroom and bathroom are jewels by themselves. The owners are charming, welcoming and helpful but never intrusive. Set in woods which were full of bird and animal sounds and sightings. We saw nearly fifty species of birds in the surrounding area and after long cycles every morning, the lake beside the house was the best type of swimming pool -natural, fresh and silk like. It was especially beautiful in the early morning and evenings. This is the ideal "get away from it all place" while at the same time having everything you need.

Remote and peaceful but beware you may not get your deposit back

Positives: peaceful, remote, rural location. Spacious house, antique and quirky interior. Close to a pretty village with bistro. Supermarket 15 mins away. The house stayed cool downstairs. Negatives: Dog: The owner has a great dane which roams freely round the garden. Great if you love great danes but It was slightly skittish. It stood on our 6 year old son’s foot on the first day and he was in a lot of pain. Deposit: 1 month since departing the property and we have still not received our deposit back. The owner did not mention anything at the time but 4 weeks later when I chased up the deposit she decided she is claiming £50. There were 2 old plastic garden chairs which were very brittle as they had been left out in the strong sun. They slightly cracked when my partner leant back on them. We discussed this with her at the time and as they were so old there was no mention of us being charged for them. Lake: The lake was wonderful for adults, but our 2 children aged 6 and 8 were not so keen. Dangerous to get in as the owner had placed 3 concrete steps in the water, these were very slippy. Clay soil at the bottom so very murky which our daughter did not like. The children could only stand up in an area of 1m x1m, and the rest was very deep, so not good for children to play in for a long period of time, like they can in the sea or swimming pool. No flat area to lay or sit near the lake, just a small area of grass on a slope. There was also a bench. As it was 30 degrees when we were there it was too hot to stay at the property all day with no water to cool down. We explored the surrounding area and found some great swimming pools, this didn't seem to go down well with the owner who asked if we “prefer chlorine”. Facilities: No washing machine. It says on the website that the owner will do the washing. We asked her to do 1 load but didn't feel comfortable asking her again. It would be better to have a machine in the property. The kitchen was very well equipped with various bits of equipment like toast maker, electric oven but many of these had uk plugs with no adapters available. It made the kitchen feel very cluttered with little worktop space. Several lights upstairs in the bedroom but most either didn't work or didn't have continental plugs. Very hot upstairs in the bedroom. Babette, the owner, an interesting lady and helpful when we asked for information but it did feel abit like we were living in her house with a list of rules to comply with.

Lugane Sos - Paradise in the forest

We had a really lovely time here. Babette was the perfect host and the gite was lovely, clean and comfortable. Upon our arrival, Babette and her family made us feel very welcome with a little soiree .Greatly appreciated the eggs from Babette's chickens and the fruit and wine The lake is beautiful and the water was still warm enough in September to have a swim. The gite is located close to many places of interest to visit but if you feel like doing nothing it is easy to stay put and enjoy the tranquillity of the forest. There are plenty of good restaurants within a short drive - Babette provided a comprehensive list of the best places to eat. I can thoroughly recommend Lugane as a lovely place to holiday.

The most perfect holiday rental with the most welcoming hosts

Well "Lugane" is quite simply the best holiday rental we have ever been to. This lovely woodland house is absolutely beautifully decorated with antique furniture and the fabulous artwork of the owner. It has everything you could possibly need for a home from home experience along with the special touches that Babette, the owner, adds to make it homely and welcoming. The woodland garden is perfect for the sun or shade loving as it has lovely open spaces for the sun worshippers among us and also many trees to provide shelter for those who prefer a cooler place to relax. The kids loved that the garden was spacious enough for football tournaments and had many places to explore and hide in. The most amazing thing about this property though has to be the lake. Immense, and breathtakingly beautiful it was the place that we spent so much of our holiday. The water was clear, warm and so inviting that our six year old who is very nervous around water not only got in on the first day but also was confidently swimming around by day three. I am sure that there are not many holiday rentals where you can swim in a private, totally secluded lake whilst watching the deer running across the hills that frame it....amazing! The hosts are lovely and are on hand if anything at all is needed yet keep distance enough that you also feel as though you have your own space. The area is full of picturesque villages and beautiful scenery. The villages of Fources and Larressingle are definately worth visiting. We cannot recommend this rental enough, is is perfect, the only problem is that you will never want to leave. Thankyou Babette and Effi for a wonderful stay in your amazing home, See you next year hopefully!!!

Relaxing lakeside holiday with family.

We have just returned from our stay at Lugane and can't rate the house and the hospitality highly enough. Babette, the owner, ensured that we had all the necessary details to make the arrival straight forward and welcoming - from detailed directions to complimentary drinks from the last remaining vineyard of the area. The house is set within a large forest a short drive/cycle ride from nearby Sos. It is a peaceful, tranquil location with only the sound of crickets and birds to keep you company. Within the house you have all the facilities listed - my teenage son particularly enjoyed using the toasted sandwich maker and we enjoyed several bbq's at the front of the house. The house is big enough for a large family, we are a family of four with 13 and 17 year old teenagers. The kitchen, lounge and dining room plus large open plan bedroom provided us with plenty of room to relax. It is artistically decorated with large paintings and antique furniture and remains cool despite the hot weather. A very short walk away from the house along a forest path is the large swimming lake. The lake is totally private with only one access point, it is in a beautiful natural setting and Babette provides a kayak to explore the corners of the lake. The lake becomes deep quite quickly, within a few steps, so our children loved being able to somersault off inflatables- we spent most days at the lake! Surrounding the house is a large woodland to explore, on the 2 bikes provided by Babette or by foot. We were lucky enough to spot deer on our very last day. We explored the local night markets particularly enjoying the large one at Nerac and the smaller one at Sos. There is a great bistro in Sos which also has a take away menu for wood fired pizza and in nearby Poudenas there is a cosy pizzeria which serves pizza by the river. Nearby activities include a 'Total Wipeout' inflatables course at a lake in Casteljaloux or boat trips along the river at Nerac. A drive to the beach is a good day out as was a trip to Bordeaux. Be sure to visit the local vineyard as they are most welcoming and you are able to sample their Floc and Armagnac - great value and delicious. We had a fantastic time at the house, it was a great find and we'd thoroughly recommend it to others. Thanks again for your kind hospitality. Melissa and Nick

Wow - what a find!

This little house is the perfect place to escape from it all - if you want to! The pictures, although good, definitely do not do it justice. There are lots of good things about the property but in my opinion, the best thing was the swimming lake. Amazing! Very clean, fresh water coming from two separate springs. The lake has a clay bottom (very good for the skin). It's huge and completely private. No need for a costume if you want to feel liberated! Short 5 minute walk from the house, located in the garden of the property. Unique and fantastic way to cool down. The house is decorated very tastefully with Babette's (the owner) art and nice furnishings. Although there is only one bedroom, it would comfortably sleep more than two people. The bathroom is lovely with a huge, deep bath. Great way to relax whilst looking out the window. You have all the facilities you could need. We enjoyed a BBQ outside almost every evening though the kitchen is large and fully equipped for cooking proper meals. The little house is very private and it's relaxing to stay out the front through the day surrounded by nature. There is plenty to do nearby if you feel like it - Babette can recommend a lovely beach to visit or markets, musical events etc. Babette and her husband Effe were very friendly. We enjoyed a drink with them (or two, or three)! They also gave us a lovely bottle of wine from the local vineyard to enjoy on our stay. Sos is small but has everything you might need - grocery shop, pharmacy etc. As well as a nice little restaurant which is very reasonably priced. Sos is only 2km away so you can easily walk there if you want to leave the car at home, or it's a five minute drive to pick up supplies. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
