Short stay in Senglea

We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Communication between the owner and Sylvana was excellent. Sylvana met us and took us to the house which was full of charm and character and in a great location. The people in Senglea were warm and welcoming and we enjoyed the local restaurants and visits to the surrounding areas. Would certainly visit again Alison and Ray

Town House in good location but needs some improvements

The house is in a good location with easy access to local restaurants and ferry to Veleta. Likes: Good location, shops nearby (check opening times they are a bit random). Internet works fine. Dislikes: The whole house needs a deep clean. Building work going on next door and down the street. Roof space is in my opinion is dangerous there is no balustrade down one side and no hand rail to the roof opening. The house would benefit from AC it topped 38 degrees in June. Tips: Download the eCabs App for taxi transfers or Bolt.

Wonderful stay in in non-tourist area

The house was lovely - lots of stairs to manage but we enjoyed mornings and evenings on the roof terrace. Well equipped kitchen for eating in. The local area is great with lots of local shops and a fairly untouched feel to it - we hardly saw many other tourists despite it being the height of summer. Transport to Valletta is great on the ferry and buses easy to get around on as well.

Wonderful stay in Senglea

We really enjoyed our stay in this property, it is a stylish mix of old and new, the view from the terrace is wonderful. There are a lot of steps to the different levels and in the summer the property is hot but there are plenty of fans in the living area and bedrooms. The area is super for sitting out in the marina and taking in the view of the boats and it is very easy to hop on the ferry over to Valetta. There is a good selection of places to eat within a very short walk or the kitchen is very well equipped if you wanted to cook yourself. Slyvana was welcoming and happily answered any questions we had.

A month in Senglea

The house is beautiful. It sits in a quiet authentic street, full of the sights and sounds of the three cities. Perhaps the biggest challenge on a daily basis was the June heat, though the lower parts of the house remained cool. Swimming at the point, eating by the waterside and wandering the ancient streets were a delight. The roof terrace in the cool of the evening is magical.

Lovely old house

Had a lovely stay in this gorgeous old house. Very peaceful area and Sylvanna (house keeper) helped us wherever she could. Be prepared for lots of steps. We rated 4 stars instead of 5 only due to the fact there was no television and my parents like to stay in at night and unwind to tv before bed.

Short Stay in Senglea

Amazing short stay in Senglea for 6 adults. Beautiful traditional Maltese townhouse in a great location. Near to local restaurants, shops and bars. Transport to Valletta via water taxi, ferry or bus very close to the apartment. Great communication from the owner Vicky and her housekeeper Sylvana. Would love to visit again and would thoroughly recommend staying here. Great memories and a wonderful holiday thanks so much.

Fantastic - just as advertised, excellent location

We are a family of 5 (adult children) and the apartment was spacious enough for us all. It is as the photos show, very clean and tidy - well equipped kitchen. The housekeeper was so kind and helpful, meeting and greeting and giving us ideas of places to eat and drink. You are so close to the harbour, people watching with a beer is a joy. Decent restaurants for all tastes, enough local shops to buy provisions. The weather was very hot but we had enough fans to cool us. But the apartment was warm as no AC. Beware - there are a lot of stairs, so you do need to be fairly fit, 35 between the lounge and the top bedroom! We enjoyed walking around Senglea, there was a guide book in the lounge which was really useful, we also took the ferry to Valetta and when we had a car later in the week, we toured around Malta a bit - took in Mdina, worth a visit. Parking was easy along the harbour front. Would recommend this as a place to stay, we were there for 5 days. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Relaxing stay in Senglea

We really enjoyed our stay in Malta. The location of the house was ideal for visiting the beaches and Valetta. We appreciated especially the terrace, which was located on top of the house. The view was just breathtaking, also at night. In my opinion the house is well maintained. Especially the bedrooms are also well arranged. We would love to visit Malta again!

Fantastic Property

What an amazing property with lovely decor and has everything you need! So much space set over multiple floors so you get fit in the process! Location wise it is ideally suited for access to Valetta and the rest of Malta and easy parking down by the Marina each day if you have a hire car. The property is really well managed and you receive upfront joining instructions and info and the meet and greet is very well managed and so so friendly. Can't recommend it enough!!

Charmante maison Maltaise

Lovely house of character in a fabulous location.

The house is really lovely. Traditional and full of character but having been modernised tastefully. It's in a wonderful historic area, very local with very few tourists. The views from the very sunny roof terrace are marvelous. You can swim in the harbour with the local people at the bottom of the road. Taking the water taxis over to Valletta and back were a regular source of joy, utterly magical. The views of Valletta and the three cities are wonderful. I spent a week on my own and then was joined by a friend for the second week. The house is perfect for two adults. Malta is a fabulous, tiny country with a very big heart. I felt very welcome. Perfect holiday.

Great place to stay in Valletta

We had a great stay at Casa Aragosta in valletta. A great place to stay and a very pleasant accomodation. It really gives you the impression to live like Maltese people. The terrace gives you a wonderful view of Senglea. Close to buses and ferries, and small shops around. The communication with the owner during the booking was very easy. Sylvana who welcomes you in the flat is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place for families. We were 6 people including 2 young kids, 2 parents and 2 grandparents.

Lovely Authentic Maltese House

Communication with the owner was good, and she was very helpful. Met on arrival at Senglea by the lovely housekeeper Sylvana, who was very friendly, helpful and informative. The house is on a side street off the waterfront with nice views from the roof terrace. The house is very clean and spacious, with a washing machine and dishwasher. Be prepared for lots of steps, but this wasn't a problem for us at all. We ate in a local restaurant that was good value and used ferries or taxis to explore other islands, such as St Julian's and Sliema. I highly recommend this property, it's in a quite quiet area so we slept well. If I booked again, I would take a small Radio as we did miss our background music whilst in the house though :) Thanks Vicky and Sylvana.

Lovely Maltese Life Style

What a lovely house in the heart of picturesque L'Isla! Shops for all daily needs as well as the bus stop are just around one or two corners, so we did not miss a rental car at all. The rooms are nicely renovated and the kitchen is well equipped. But on quite windy-cold winter days, it is a bit difficult to get the rooms warm and we could not use the nice "Gallarija" at all. Especially taking a shower was... hmmm... challenging, because the bath rooms could not be heated at all and the 15 degrees celsius were only endurable due to the shower's wonderful hot water :-)

Traditional Original Town House in Three Cities

What a lovely, well maintained town house in Senglea! This is a spacious property with stunning original features and up to date plumbing! We especially loved the tiled floors and the traditional balconies. The house is beautifully looked after by the welcoming Sylvana, who met us in front of the house when we arrived from the airport and showed us round the house. Sitting on the roof terrace is a perfect way to unwind as you soak up the atmosphere of the honeyed stone medieval Three Cities. The house is a stones throw from the waterfront which in my opinion gives Venice a run for its money and is great for yacht "window shopping". The house is well positioned for the local bus, tourists can purchase a weekly pass, and is a short walk away from the water taxi services that run regularly across the Grand Harbour, to the most delightful capital city of Valletta, from which the whole of Malta is accessible. Birgu is a short walk away and besides the charming narrow streets which are a pleasure to wander through, has some excellent museums. We particularly enjoyed the underground maze of shelters in The War Museum. A great stay, thank you so much.

Amazing

We had a fabulous time and can't thank you enough for making our holiday perfect. Sylvana met us on arrival and was brilliant, friendly & helpful. This is a beautiful authentic Maltese house, in an idyilic part of the island, and we were delighted we could stay there. The photographs speak for themselves, but it is even better than described. Well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable, there is plenty of room across four floors. The roof terrace, with its amazing views across the Marina, is perfect for an alfresco breakfast, taking in the sun and chilling in the evening. The location is perfect for exploring, with the water taxis & ferry to Valletta. Other towns & beaches are a couple of miles away; perfect for a leisurely stroll! Local restaurants and food are excellent and we were lucky enough to be there for one of the festivals, which was amazing. Can't wait to visit again next year. A very big thank you for a wonderful experience of Malta. I have already recommended this property to friends and relatives!

Great location and amazing roof terrace!

After only a short taxi ride from the airport, we were met by Sylvana who was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. There were 6 of us staying so it was nice to feel we had our own space. The roof terrace was awesome! Lovely to sit during the evening with a glass of wine. The restaurants nearby were good and affordable - and the locals were welcoming. A great location for exploring Malta with the ferry leaving only a short walk away. We're looking forward to visiting again next year!

Perfect for us.

You arrive in the narrow main street of Senglea and drag your cases a few yards down to the front of the Lobster House. Below, only a few steps away, brightly coloured Maltese skiffs bob in the harbour. The house is tall and thin with nicely renovated sandstone walls on the stairs and modern and immaculate shower rooms. The bedrooms are basic, tidy and pretty comfortable. My wife and I slept in the top bedroom with the skylight to the roof thrown open to the night. Our 17 year old and friend spread themselves across the two bedrooms below . The roof top view of the harbour and Marina is to die for. At about 6pm the heat starts to abate and it's perfect for wine and pre dinner chat. The house has no air con but plenty of fans. It was hot outside but we didn't suffer. The open plan living area has a box window area and all the windows can be lifted for air. There are small supermarkets and greengrocers a few seconds away and a pharmacy. We moved backwards and forwards between here and Valetta by Ferry shuttle with a spectacular lift into the Barraka Gardens and the main centre of Valetta when you disembark . The Ferry is a stroll round the harbour, cheap, every half an hour and takes less than ten minutes. (Wish I knew there were water taxis for even less and nearer, but whatthehell it's fun!). Aside from the cafe the owner recommends, you can also stroll round the harbour to Vittoriosa and more restaurants. We were there for the festival of San Lawrenz (be prepared for fireworks and endless explosions) but the street procession, bands and atmosphere were marvellous. All the harbour is lit up and countless banners and pennents flap in the breeze during the day. Perfect, inexpensive, atmospheric and clean little house to use as a base for getting into the fascinating history of the Knights and Malta. Oh and Guze Bistro in Valetta is superb!

An amazing stay on the sunshine Island of Malta

A well maintained traditional Maltese house. The interior is light, modern, comfortably furnished and well equipped for self-catering. The standard of cleanliness is excellent. All photographs and details are accurate. This quiet and tranquil location, with only a short walk to a modern Marina surrounded by a variety of good restaurants with local shops just around the corner, is perfect. Valletta is only 10 minutes by ferry from the quay side and the Island bus tours that are hop-on hop-off at various locations are an excellent way of seeing the Island. A most enjoyable holiday – weather perfect! We highly recommend this house and location. Rita and Pat
