Stunning Chateau with glorious views overlooking the lake. Fabulous original features with ample space inside and outside on the terrace. Large comfortable rooms for our party of 15. Lovely enclosed pool and recreation areas in huge wooded grounds and massive lake for boating, fishing and bird watching. Very welcoming owners on arrival to show us around. Cannot wait for a chance to re-visit.
We had a lovely holiday, chilling, swimming in the pool or lake, watching the spectacular moonrises, listening to the extraordinary marsh frog songs from dusk until dawn, and exploring local forests by foot and pedal. Some of the digital/electrical tech was a bit quirky but in many ways that added to the charm of this bucolic retreat.
We had an excellent family holiday at a superb country house in an idyllic rural setting. The owners were very helpful and friendly. They met us at check-in and were always happy to help with anything. The house was ideal for a large family group, with both adults and young children. The bedrooms were tastefully furnished and the kitchen was very well equipped. The view over the lake in the evening was just fabulous. The young adored the swimming pool and the trampoline. We cannot recommend this property highly enough for a restful family holiday.
Merci !
Our stay in this homely french Chateau was wonderful - all 18 of us (from 2 to 55) thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and are keen to return next year.
The Chateau is set back from the road down a long drive, its sits in a large piece of land on the edge of a lake. In its grounds there is a heated swimming pool, trampoline, table tennis table, large wendy house with lots of toys, a shed with bikes that you can borrow to ride round the lake/explore the local area and a sit on top kayak & Canadian canoe to explore the lake. Additionally there are loungers and deck chairs around the pool and plenty of tables and chairs outside to enable everyone to sit down and eat together (as well as a plancha grill outside for barbecuing food). The kitchen has everything you could hope for and more!
Our group took full advantage of the holiday to relax around the pool, visit Nantes, open water swim in the lake, run the 6km around the lake and explore the area on bikes (whether those borrowed from the house for short rides or those brought from home for longer rides (c.60km). We also delved into the fantastic assortment of board games to while away some of the longer afternoons (Blokus was an absolute favourite).
The bedrooms all had great views and the bathrooms offered hot water for showers and soft towels .
If you are thinking of renting a chateau in France i can totally recommend this one; it has a wonderful ambiance and is very homely. It also has fantastic facilities and is large enough that you can escape the masses and easily find peace and quiet.
The photographs of this property do not do it justice. It is far more impressive than it appears. It is a wonderful property with superb grounds and has everything you might need, save that, if like us you were planning a formal meal for 20 there is insufficient room inside. Fortunately, in one way, a number of our family were unable to attend so we were reduced to 12 for dinner. With the introduction of the table from the hallway we were all able to be seated comfortably. The outside area has plenty of seating and tables. The heated pool was excellent and there were more than enough seats around it. We “suffered” some extreme heat during our stay where the lack of air conditioning and/or fans in the bedrooms became a small issue at night. Our hosts were extremely helpful both before and during our stay, (Uncle came round after a violent thunderstorm to make sure we had managed to get the power back on). Our trip was 2 years in the planning for a special anniversary and we are extremely pleased with the choice we made. We thoroughly recommend this property to you.
