Most American travelers are not use to the idea of sharing accommodations while traveling. However, locals for thousand of years around the world have been welcoming weary travelers into their homes. Come explore my home, the neighborhood, Austin and the surrounding Hill Country. Get to know the locals and maybe we can even sit down and have a meal together.

I don't want to rent you a space, I want to give you an experience. Something you rarely find in the hospitality industry anymore in the America.

The house was built in 1985, I got it in 2009 and it's been my retreat since. New windows, travertine tile floor, and skylights gives one the sense of being outside. The shared kitchen, dinning and living area are very bright and welcoming during the day. It's warm & cozy at night when you fire up the fireplace, and turn down the lights.

Your Master Ensuite is a spacious 300 sq-ft, with beautiful Saltillio floor tile. The bathroom is splashed with colorful talavera Mexican tile. There is a walk-in closet, blackout window shutters, a Master Safe, surge protected power strip, reclining King size bed and a massive 65" Plasma TV 7.2 Dolby surround system. A very nice desk awaits your laptop.

The kitchen is fully equipped with most every thing you will need. Come make a meal or just sit down and have a cup of coffee from my incredible coffee bar.

My Backyard Garden Room - Sanctuary & Koi Pond; ... the garden is undergoing some changes currently. I'm making it a more Texas flora & fauna friendly retreat. Wander around, have a seat under my pecan tree, or just bask in the Texas sun. Maybe even grill up a juicy Texas steak..... The perfect place to Relax & Recharge!

Enjoy a morning cup of java on the front porch, watching the neighborhood start a new day.

Garage Gym; opened 7am-11pm pretty much all you'll need for a good workout.

Awesome Austin Abode

This stay was a wonderful because the hosts, Larry, his daughter and their daughter were very welcoming, especially making sure that I made it there safely, on a rainy drive from the airport. The space was exactly what I needed with high speed internet, with nice attention to detail (desk, lots of well-placed power strips and mini-refrig with bottled water). Larry was kind enough to even print a page for my meeting downtown. If I return and need a place, I hope there is availability. Definitely a 5-star stay!

I recently retired from 20 yrs as a Family Physician in Austin, but I'm just not ready to stop working. My dad was stationed in Germany, were I spent much of my childhood. We enjoyed road trips through the European countryside, that's were I first experienced the concept of hosting short term rentals. The Europeans called them Pensione, some of my fondest childhood memories are from spending time with the families, in their homes and exploring their communities. I enjoy socializing with my guest and I'd like to help make your stay an unforgettable experience. Understandably many travelers want their privacy, and little desire to interact with the Host. If you want your privacy or want to socialize, no problem, I've got both covered. If you need something I will always be available by text/phone. It is my primary home so I'll be there most of the time, off in the background.
