About Marwan Abboud

My wife and I purchased this property in 2004 (picture is my mom - my wife has since passed away). She adored it and we spent a lot of time up there with my two kids. It is a great hide out and a jewel of a place to just relax and do nothing - or go out and hike the many North Georgia mountain trails. My wife passed away in 2007 and I have not been able to use the place as often as I like. So I want other people to enjoy for the modest price we are charging.

This cabin is indeed a hidden jewel

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We were four adults and two dogs and it fitted our needs perfectly. It has all the amenities required for a very comfortable stay. We especially liked the seclusion and quiet, but at the same time having the small town of Clayton within a ten minute drive. The owner was very accommodating and swift to answer emails. We can thoroughly recommend this property and will plan on booking it again. JA, Northern VA.

We loved our stay at the cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. It had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and well maintained. There are three true bedrooms, and 2 full size baths which made sleeping accommodations easy and comfortable. Wi-Fi is fast (which is rear) and some of us were able to do a little work too. Direct TV offers plenty of channels for the rainy days. But our favorites are the fireplaces: one in the living room and one in the covered patio. They are not the typical fireplaces, and reminded us a lot of the our grandma's firewood stove oven. We spent every evening of our stay around the fireplaces enjoying the warm flames with a great company, listening to the music of the creek, which is running very close to the cabin. We saw the stone slide and the little pool formed at the bottom of the slide, but did not attempt to swim (it was a little too cold for Floridians).

The cabin is located close to Clayton (about 10-12 minutes) where you can find grocery stores and restaurants, there are horse riding places close to cabin (which we could not visit due to rain) and is only about 25 minutes drive from Tallulah Falls Gorge. This is the place to visit in Georgia. The views are unforgettable.

We would definitely consider renting the cabin again when we come back to the Georgia Mountains.

Clean and simple

  • 5 of 5

Timpson Creek just across the road provides a soft melody in this quiet setting. Just a simple cabin where everything was clean and everything worked. Communicated with the owner by text (AT&T) and he was prompt answering.

secret hideaway indeed. of all the places we have stayed, this cabin was private, clean, well laid out and well built. the hickory handrails highlight porches and stairs. the sound of the creek and the" rain on a tin roof sleep" was the best.thank you mr. Abboud for sharing your home with us. we hope to return soon. herb & arelia bartlett

Peaceful solitude

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with the cabin and surprised to see such attention to detail in the decorating to preserve the character of the area. We loved the porch and we're immediately drawn to it when we arrived. The sounds of the creek and trees all around were music to my ears. We walked to the falls, very beautiful but could not get to the swimming hole. Loved the quiet road and creeks. Future suggestions if going in cold weather - no fireplace tools for wood stove, sofa needs high back for comfort-sectional might be nice. I would definitely go again.Thank you for sharing this property with others.

I can't say the first negative thing about our stay, everything was wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed. The owners were easy to communicate with and quick to reply to any questions we had. We will definitely stay in this cabin again.

I prefer the security deposit as a personal check that I hold on to and then destroy after I get the all clear from my cleaning services. That eliminates the complication of refund afterwards.
