About Marwan Abboud
My wife and I purchased this property in 2004 (picture is my mom - my wife has since passed away). She adored it and we spent a lot of time up there with my two kids. It is a great hide out and a jewel of a place to just relax and do nothing - or go out and hike the many North Georgia mountain trails. My wife passed away in 2007 and I have not been able to use the place as often as I like. So I want other people to enjoy for the modest price we are charging.

Why Marwan Abboud chose Clayton
secluded, hidden, very quiet and next to a creek - has a lot of walking trails and a 40 foot water fall 15 minutes walk from the cabin.
What makes this Cabin unique
hiking trails, cool creek, quiet surroundings.

Pleasant stay, but mice problem
The cabin heated very nicely, which was fantastic given it was 17 degrees out. We were never chilly inside, nor did we feel like there was a draft. The description says it sleeps 8, but that's only if you have 3 people in the king bed and someone on the couch.
My big issue is that there was a mouse problem. One person in our group spotted a mouse in the middle of the night, another couple heard the mice rustling through the kitchen drawers, they had broken into our food and left mouse droppings all across the counter, and I found mouse droppings in my bed. When I told the owner and asked him for a partial refund, he just said thanks for letting him know. I didn't get any refund except my security deposit.
Once the mouse problem is fixed, it's almost the perfect cabin! Very well-equipped and in such a lovely area.
From what I hear, unfortunately the mice problem is actually happening in every cabin and house in the Georgia mountains - but it is something that I am dealing with in a humane and environmentally clean way. Chemicals would be an easy solution but would not be a good one for the environment. The cabin can sleep eight as a max - there is one king bed, one queen bed, two bunk beds and a sleeper sofa. I tell people it would not be comfortable for 8 adults - but if you have a mix of two adult couples and four kids - you can do it.
It is a beautiful but modest cabin - in the middle of the Beautiful Georgia Mountains - it is not meant to be the Ritz or the Hilton and the nightly charge is modest and done accordingly for a three bedroom - two bath cabin.

We had a great time at Bear Cabin , great place to start your day and finish it. Found the waterfall and made our way carefully down to the bottom . Great sight . Everything was comfortable and private. Not much stocked, so if you need it , you should bring it , which I like. Hope to come back
Great location. Very private. The cabin was clean and well supplied. All you need is groceries. I would recommend and would stay again.
Perfect little getaway!
My husband and I came to this hidden gem with our six kids and had a wonderful time! Cabin is secluded enough that we just hiked around here — but close enough to town that going in was easy. Our younger children loved the creek and our teenage sons loved all the games on the porch. Very restful few days for us.
Great time nice and cozy. Wonderful creek at the end of the driveway.
Nice secluded property
We were in Clayton ga for our daughters wedding. We were impressed with the property. The only issue we had with this property was the water pressure. There was only enough pressure to run the water about one minute. Then there wasn't any water. If you let the pressure build about 5 to 10 minutes. We were able to run water for a minute then had to wait for it to build. This was a very big issue. The owner did have someone come out and check it. He told me. The water was gravity fed from the top of the mountain. Due to hurricane Irma. There were several down trees on the way to the top. Which apparently diverted the spring. That feeds the cabin. The owner was apologetic. Apparently he did not know about this issue. Other than the water pressure. This cabin was very nice. Just can not be without water to shower and other necessities.
The problem was a pressure valve and it was fixed the next day - and the water is flowing freely and abundantly. Unfortunately such issues are not predictable. The renter also failed to mention that they were refunded one of the two days as a result of this unpredictable nuisance.

I prefer the security deposit as a personal check that I hold on to and then destroy after I get the all clear from my cleaning services. That eliminates the complication of refund afterwards.
