Tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac in a hamlet surrounded by vineyards, a few kilometres from the ocean and the hustle and bustle of tourist life, ‘Ma Longère Charentaise’ reflects the authenticity and gentle way of life of the region, whatever the season.
The farmhouse has been restored without losing its character and has been fitted out with an eco-friendly approach.
Its preserved remains, the harmony between smooth surfaces and original stonework, the raw wood, and the value of simple, unpretentious things combine charm, character and authenticity. The noble materials and raw textures evoke well-being, conviviality and comfort, all surrounded by meticulously sourced décor. In ‘my Charente farmhouse’, there is a keen eye for detail. Every object, whether decorative or utilitarian, contemporary or steeped in history, is the result of love at first sight!
The exterior is not to be outdone. The fully enclosed property is wooded and laid out around various well-designed areas conducive to relaxation and conviviality. The swimming pool is secure and heated (from May to September) and its deck is generously and comfortably furnished. The shaded terrace offers lounge areas and al fresco dining, close to wisteria and generous rose bushes, promising a rustic atmosphere for balmy, starry evenings.
