Why Jorge Lima chose Arcos de Valdevez
At the very moment we glance at the each ray of sunshine entering the foliage, at the sky reflecting in the idle waters of Lima, at each detail of a picturesque village exhaling centuries of history… At the very moment we feel the wind bringing the fragrance of orange blossom and the sun embracing us… At the very moment we stop to clearly listen to all the sounds that invite us to stay… we feel this indescribable eagerness of sharing these sensations with the rest of the world! We wanted to maintain its identity, its wisdom created by the time that went by it. But we also wanted it to be contemporary as it demanded. And our first house was born, and now its also yours!

Very good
We enjoyed our stay, though for me personally it was a little remote. If your wish is complete solitude and quiet then this is the place for you; with lovely walks by the river and an old monastery in the tiny village that rings a bell every hour. There are different levels to this property with steep stairs and the access road in is very narrow. For eateries and groceries you have to drive a few kilometers into Soajo, and it is worth exploring.
Jorge & Vanessa were extremely helpful throughout our communication from booking to departing and offered some good insight into the area. The house is very clean with some nice architectural touches and beds are comfortable.
Beautiful house and location
The pictures do not do this place justice - it is really beautiful. The living area has everything you need, with high quality interior decoration plus spectacular views. The same views you can also enjoy from the sun terrace and from the pool terrace. The pool is small but good for a splash and a cool down. Plenty of stunningly beautiful wild swimming to be had locally (rocks are very slippy though so take great care). Lots of steps both in the apartment and in the village itself so you will need to be in reasonable shape to get the most out of it, and you will need a small car and good driving skills to actually reach the apartment. It's not a problem as you can park larger cars on the main road and go by foot on the narrow medieval streets - our wonderful hosts Vanessa and Jorge helped us with our luggage. Our week here was a totally magical experience and we hope to return...
Thank you so much for your kind words! It would be a pleasure to host you again!
We wish you and your family all the best :-)
Very relaxing - good quality of villa - good restaurants in Soaja - I would highly recommend
Fantastic location - we had a great holiday - I would highly recommend
Exactly as billed -- amazing views, modern house
The house is architecturally quite interesting (though we're not architects), an intelligent blend of old (the stone walls) and new (totally modern inside). So you can appreciate your stay here for that reason alone. But I think what really sets this place apart is its location on the edge of the Penedes Geres national park within the historical mountain village of Ermelo. Whether enjoying the views of Ermelo and its monastery from the house's living room window (pictured) or walking its cobblestone streets, you get a unique chance to experience life in a rural Portuguese village when you stay here. Also highly recommended is to drive or walk 5 km to the next village, Soajo, which is big enough to have a handful of restaurants (Espigueiro do Soajo highly recommended) and pasteleria.
Thanks Puspa for your kind words! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay! It was a pleasure to have you here :-)
We wish you all the best!

Lovely modern property yet retains character and with stunning views
A relaxing stay in a quiet yet stunning location. A place to wind down away from the crowds
Worth more like 4.5 stars (which the software won't allow) with the only drawback being the distance to amenities such as food shops
Thanks for your kind words! We hope you had a great time in Portugal and a safe journey back home!
Beautiful home, stunning location
We just returned from Casas da Lola and wholeheartedly recommend it. The house is beautiful...the terrace is lovely for enjoying drinks in the evening...the pool is great for a plunge after a hike...and a thousand-year-old monastery sits basically in the front yard. The surrounding area is breathtaking. Jorge and Vanessa were extremely friendly and helpful. If you are spending any amount of time in northern Portugal or Peneda-Gerês National Park this makes a fantastic home base.
Thanks for your kind words! We hope you had a great time in Portugal and a safe journey back home!
