There are probably less than ten houses like this in the whole of Brittany!
Offering private access to the beach and the GR34 coastal path, and commanding breathtaking views of Concarneau Bay and its walled town, the ‘Maison du Douanier’ is the perfect retreat for new lovers and those who remain so.
At high tide and in strong winds, the waves crash right up to the windows. The sunsets you will experience while dining on one of the two terraces will remain etched in your memory.
Although the house is just under 30 m², it offers every comfort thanks to its careful renovation. Particular attention has been paid to the original and elegant décor, combining stylish design and harmonious colours. This little gem, like the three other holiday homes at Domaine du Fort du Cabellou, is located on a site with a beautiful landscaped garden and a tiny forest that is a nature reserve.
Since the summer of 2025, a new section of the coastal path has been running through the property. The ‘Maison du Douanier’, with its small private garden and two terraces, is located directly on the coast, in front of the path. From there, you can access the sea, the GR34 coastal path or the large garden of the Domaine du Fort du Cabellou.
The site is an ideal place for holidaymakers seeking new horizons between sea and nature. The numerous hiking trails and visits to Breton towns and villages will enhance your stay.
The caretakers live on site, ensuring a warm welcome and advising you on how to make your stay unforgettable.
The ‘Maison du Douanier’ offers:
- 1 mezzanine bedroom with a 160cm x 200cm bed.
- 1 bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The bathroom has direct access from the outside, allowing you to enjoy a nice hot shower when you return from the beach.
- Fibre optic internet connection throughout the house
- The kitchen, which opens onto the living room, is functional and fully equipped with a dishwasher, extractor hood, fan oven, four-ring ceramic hob and Liebherr fridge-freezer with SmartFrost.
From the property's car park, you can walk along the romantic ‘Chemin du Douanier’ for 120 metres to the house.
- NO TV!
Please note: Access to the mezzanine of the ‘Maison du Douanier’ is via Japanese-style steps (see photo). Unfortunately, these are not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who suffer from vertigo.
Furthermore, in order to make the most of the view, the house has neither curtains nor shutters.
