About Pamela Bernier
We are long time locals, Pierre is a shipwright and built this home for our family in 2017, Pamela is a retired teacher and realtor and active farmer. We have a farm nearby (in Occidental) where we have horses and chickens, blueberries, orchards and gardens. Kids now grown and mostly gone, so the beach house not as often used, lets us share now!
Pamela Bernier purchased this House in 2017
Why Pamela Bernier chose Salmon Creek
This is an irreplaceable setting- we were pinch-ourselves-is-this-real dazed when we were able to acquire the lot back in 2012. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, it's just an otherworldly place. We have 4000 acres of park lands flanking both the east and west sides of the lot- step out the front door, go down the boardwalk, cross the driveway and enter the realm of the coastal trail, coastal ponds (in winter) and dunes. To the west, walk through the private trail on our lot into the park- dunes and beach straight ahead. We sleep to the sound of the surf, and watch an amazing array of birdlife from the property. Best of all, in winter and early spring, we can watch whales migrate along the coast literally from the dining table. The light is in the home is a bit surreal- soft and bright, you lose track of time here.; it is an ultimately serene and soothing place..
What makes this House unique
You can land here with your groceries and then never leave for the duration of your visit. So much to see and explore just walking from the property. Close to SF (about a 90 minute drive), but remote enough to be peaceful. This is the only community in Bodega Bay (outside of the golf course development) that lies west of Hwy One, so no traffic or road crossing to get to the beach. The Salmon Creek estuary brings an amazing array of birdlife to the area. If you do want to venture out, the Russian River, Osmosis Spa, an endless selections of fantastic artisan foods (bakeries, cheese shops, wine shops, etc.) and restaurants and activities are all nearby. It's just a fantastic place to explore if you are feeling active, or lounge if you just need to rest!
