About this property

Located 7 minutes from Historic Russell, on Waikare Inlet, you will find our beautifully kept wood paneled cottage on 5 acres of native bush. Barbecue on the deck as you watch the sunset change the ocean's colours or have a spa in our covered outdoor area glimpsing the myriad of stars lighting up the inlet. Would you like a dip in the owners heated swimming pool next door? Not a problem! Its yours between 11 - 3 every day October 1st - April 15.

We are located right across the road from Russell's native bush walk, there's a lovely secluded swimming beach 5 minutes walk away, or you might want to borrow one of the kayaks at our own waterfront (which is tidal and a 400 meter walk down a drive and walk back uphill). The kayaks have fishing rod holders if you feel like trying your luck for one of our many luscious snapper .
We have a range of FREE sporting equipment for your use: tennis rackets, croquet, trampoline, table tennis, basketball hoop, kids scooter, lots of indoor games plus SKY, wifi.

And of course, there's Russell. Cruise, take a jet boat out to the Hole in the Rock or a leisurely sailing cruise around the islands, charter a boat for a day's snapper or marlin fishing, visit our historic sites and places, or just bring a book while the kids romp on the beach or paddle in our crystal clear waters. Theres the 87 km railtrail from Opua, mountain bike park at Waikangi - bike rentals both places. There's so many things to do here - I haven't even touched on the heaps of places you'll find to explore within an hour's radius of our home.

We absolutely loved this property and our experience here.

We absolutely loved this property and our experience here. It was private, there is a big deck with great views of the water, we used the kayaks, swimming pool, BBQ and just had a blast. It is a great base to explore the area as well. We definitely recommend this property!

This is a great location for relaxing.

Only comment I have is the games room is a detatched garage...

Only comment I have is the games room is a detatched garage when you have 12 people two had to be in the garage(games room) I did not pick this up from the pictures or write up. The pool is attached to the owners home. Onlyoneshower 2x toilets not ideal for 12. But had a wonderful time.Beautiful setting, great house, lovely people. Pick your time to Kayak well this is mangroves.

We are a couple of adventurers now enjoying the relaxing years. We're pretty laid back and have offered to you everything we love ourselves: games, swimming, and lovely house and grounds to enjoy it all.

Why they chose this property

So much room for you and yours yet only 6 minute drive to Russell village and a 1 minute drive to the ferry. You also have access to the round-the-bay walking track just across the road - walk to Russell, foot ferry to Paihia (have lunch and a rest!) then back from Paihia to car ferry and 1 km up the hill to Waikare Cove. Great all day adventure and a stunning track!

We offer the call of the kiwi at night, weka on your deck, quiet NZ bush and ocean views without the pub noises at night of Russell village! Tracks to walk on the property, games, wifi, all the Sky channels you'd ever desire, heated pool and spa. What more would you need?
