Villa Pacifica Apartment 2-Free car/transfers

Our Apartment:
Our Apartment 2 is a one bedroom apartment with an ensuite bathroom, a lounge and kitchenette. The kitchenette has a two-element stove top, a microwave, and a jug. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided.

Your own private car is available for you to use for the duration of your stay. This is a huge convenience and cost saving over public transport, taxis or hire cars. Please read the terms of the car's use below. In particular, you will be required to refuel the car and stay off gravel roads.


Our Property:
Villa Pacifica is an 18 acre property with incredible views in a semi-rural, tranquil setting close to nature and away from the crowds.

With the convenience of a free car to use for the duration of your stay, you're also never far from experiencing what Waiheke has to offer. You'll have the best of both worlds!

Cafes, vineyards & restaurants are only minutes drive away, or walk to The Batch winery. The island's supermarket is less than 10 minutes drive.

We offer free transfers to/from the wharf (up to and including the 5pm sailing) which takes the hassle and cost out of getting to your accommodation. Be sure to read the terms of our transfers below.

If you enjoy nature walks, Whakanewha Regional Park has many great walking tracks to explore, and is just across the road from the villa. Due to our close proximity to the regional park, you'll find wekas, tuis, pheasants, and the occasional blue herron on the property during the day, kakas (native parrot) at dusk, and moreporks (native owl) at night.


Guest access:
If you have arranged for us to pick you up, we will bring you back to the villa and show you to your apartment and your car.

If you are bringing your own car or catching a taxi, we will greet you when you arrive at the villa.

We live in the main house on the property, so if you need anything, we're never far away. Feel free to text or call us, or pop over to the house and see us. You can message us on Vrbo/Bookabach, but we sometimes don't receive them in a timely manner, so it's better to call or text in time-critical situations.


Free transfer terms:
We are only available for transfers up to and including the 5pm ferry. If you board a later ferry, you will need to catch a taxi to the villa. You will find them at the wharf.

Please request transfers at least the day before you need the transfer so that we have time to reorganise our other commitments. Otherwise, you will most likely need to take a taxi. This includes transfers back to the ferry when you check out.

If you request a pickup from us, it's important that you message us when you board the ferry. We'll then head on our way to pick you up. If you don't, we'll assume you missed the ferry like so many have done without telling us. We really appreciate it when guests keep us informed of changes to their travel plans.


Free car terms:
The driver must have a full licence.

You must replace the fuel you used before you return the car to us.

You must not drive on gravel roads. The only gravel road remaining on the island is Man O’ War Bay road. Unfortunately, Stoney Batter, the Man O’ War Bay vineyard and Waiheke Distillery Co is on this road, so if you wish to visit those, you’ll have to make alternative arrangements. Check out the Eastern Explorer bus. It goes out there.

The car is available for the duration of your stay only. That is, from 1pm on your checkin day until 11am on your checkout day. We would love to be able to lend you the car outside these hours, but if someone else books the apartment for that time, we have to give it to them. Therefore, contact us the day before you checkin/checkout and we'll be able to tell you if you can have the car earlier/later.

The car must be returned to the villa each night.

If you choose to use our car, you do so at your own risk. We keep our cars road legal, but they're not insured. We've not had an incident or accident by any of our guests since we started providing accommodation more than 20 years ago, but if it were to happen, we will cover any damage to our vehicle only. NO RESPONSIBILITY for your safety, injury, or third party damage will be taken by us.
