Get away from it all and enjoy the spectacular views - whether to get out there and do it, or just to relax and enjoy the location. This roomy little ocean front cottage boasts a view of the whole Mataikona bay.
Located right at the entrance of deliverance cove you're close to everything this iconic location has to offer.
Located just a short walk from the Holiday Light; Deliverance Cove Track and the reef. Just down the road is the Castlepoint shop and beach.
Just 2 hours from Wellington, Castlepoint is a spectacular year round holiday destination; be it for a summer break at the beach or a winter getaway to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Special conditions:
Pets allowed with prior approval. Very well-behaved dogs are welcome but owners are requested to ensure that they clean up after them.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

This place is a wonderful spot right on the beach. If the owner spent some on a few basic items to update things it would be a 5 star stay. She shower has a constant drip once the Mains are on. Also the toilet seat is very small compared to the actual toilet. And also the curtains need fixing, but they did warn us about those.

Absolutely stunning- we had a great stay. Lots of action all around our birdseye view. Lovely walks and very peaceful too. Only downside was no tea, coffee, salt or pepper. Definitely would love to stay again

Location, location, location but unfortunately not much else. Traditional kiwi bach in a great place but tired, run down and feeling unloved. (Broken kitchen door, toaster not popping up, microwave kept tripping the circuit breaker, Ill fitting curtains, rickety dining chair, loose toilet seat, dripping shower head)No basic provisions, salt, pepper or tea making.Different bed than photo, no bed head so unable to sit up in bed. Given the total cost ended up at about 280 a night, this did not feel like good value for money.

Mid Winter/Matariki get away

We have stayed at Windsong many times over the last 6 years.Its location and views are awesome but the closeness to the beach is the real winner. We probably spend 50% of the time out and about, day or night!This bach is what a good bach should be, simple. If you want your high end top of the range accomodation with shiny object and all the creature comforts of a 5star then this isn't for you. This bach is for people who appreciate "going to a bach" and simply slowing down.Will be back.

This kiwi bach is amazing – it's very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay. The location is indeed stunning, you can’t get a better view. Fish & chips at the local shop is a must. We loved it here and will definitely be back (also great that we could bring our dog with us).

Unequalled vista

Hi we only had one night here sadly. I’m from Christchurch and was with Wellington family. We had never ventured here before and wow the view is unmatched. Our favourite moments were wandering the nearby track to the lighthouse at sunset and enjoying breakfast on the deck (which is right in the shore) as the sun streamed in. Owner was very helpful and was open to hearing our suggestions on some tweaks. Comfortable beds and couch with a well supplied kitchen.

Epic spot in a traditional kiwi bach

Location couldnt be better. House needs a little love, especially the kitchen. Thankfully we read the comments and brought a lot of kitchen things with us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Happy place

LOVED our stay here and I will book again. Just a perfect location, close to beach to walk the dog, climb to the lighthouse. Out of the way so you have no clue what is going on in the rest of Castlepoint. I was a little concerned that there seemed no way to contact the host should anything go wrong.....which it didn't. But it disconcerted me a little. Won't stop me coming back. I could live there forever.

Perfect spot

Great little place, absolute perfect spot. Everything you need except a decent clothes line, and no washer or dryer. We got caught in a heavy downpour and got soaked and there was no way to dry our only warm clothes, and please fix those curtains, it wouldn't take much. Would stay here again.

Beautiful cottage

This is a gorgeous little bach, in a wonderful location with a stunning view and great deck. We had a great stay, easy communication with host and arrival instructions. A lovely quiet couple of days at the beach

Dirty and dangerous

The property was quite dirty. We had to wash all the cutlery and crockery we intended to use, and gave the counters a good clean but not impressed with how dirty it was behind canisters and in the cupboards etc. The shower was full of sand when we arrived and the bathroom not very clean. Such a pity because this could be a lovely let. We were also very concerned that there was no working smoke alarm especially considering some very old electrics. I doubt the property would pass an electric and wiring inspection. The property was very tired overall.The view was good but all things considered it was well over priced.

Selling home to daughter on OE in UK

We had a great time with our daughter and her friends ( we rented 2 houses) reminding her of how glorious Home is. Hopefully it’s enough to make a permanent return likely! She loved it.

Castlepoint adventure

Location is excellent. Property was adequate but could do with an update and fresh up. Spring clean wouldn’t go amiss. Curtains need very gentle care as fittings are brittle but understand the sun would do that. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.
