Rangiputa Retreat -Fish & Farm stay

Over looking the multi-coloured Rangaunu Harbour in the Far North of New Zealand, Rangiputa Retreat makes a great place to stay and unwind.

Free WIFI unlimited via Starlink. This can be turned off if you wish. Close to many amazing beaches, shop etc. Private courtyard, BBQ area and spa pool.

The fishing is world famous "as seen on TV". Easy Beach launching 3km .

Set on lifestyle block with something to please all the family. Come and see for yourself why our place is so special and loved by many.
Special conditions:
Fabulous large Spa pool with sunset views .
Smoking outside only please.
BBQ area and private patio with clothes line out the back.


Wheelchair access ok except need to step over 30 cm high shower box tray. BYO shower chair.

We have cats , dogs , cows and chickens onsite .

Great spot with great hosts.

We had such an awesome visit and Steve and Vanessa were really great hosts. We were spoilt with magic sunsets and amazing star gazing. The kids loved the spa during the cold evenings and enjoyed wondering in the paddocks. We will definitely return.

One word “Paradise”

Vanessa and Steve are great hosts, and have a envious lifestyle, the Bach was perfect for what we required.This was our 2nd time to KariKari, and as usual we love it there. Cannot recommend enough, or perhaps I should say the opposite to keep this gem to myself😉, we will definitely be back to stay and Rangiputa Retreat is top of our list

Gem within Northland

We had booked this for our grown children and grandson. Animals made it feel like home especially Sandy the dog 💜 And the price better then all others around, with fresh free-range eggs and lemons ready for any fishing to be had. This place has all that you need and more. Vanessa & Steve were absolutely amazing Host, what amazing people to meet.

Best Farm Stay EVER!

We had the most beautiful experience! The property is beautifully decorated, clean and has everything you need! The hosts were absolutely awesome spoiling us with fresh Snapper and Sashimi (tried it for the first time and loved it) We will definitely visit again! 10 out of 10 experience! :)

Great place, great area, great people!

Vanessa and Steve are wonderful hosts. They make sure that you have everything, let you know about all the spots around to visit, good to have a yarn with, but not over the top so it would be intruding. They have got the balance just right. And I must make a special mention - I broke the tilt mechanism on my outboard, and Steve took time out of his busy work day to fix it for me. It was great watching a proper tradesman in action. Absolute legend. And thanks again for the kingfish sashimi, banana cake and peaches! Can’t recommend Rangiputa Retreat enough. Oh, and Vanessa also couriered my daughter’s watch back to us which she had left behind. Great place, great area, great people!

What a magic spot for some time out.

We loved our stay at Rangiputa Retreat. It truly was a retreat for us - taking us far from our busy city lives into quiet farmland with a magic view out over the inlet. There were many high points of our stay- fishing with Steve, exploring the peninsula, visiting the cape and each day ending with a magical spa! Thanks for making our few days in Karikari wonderful Vanessa and Steve!

The Best Beach Stay

An absolute pleasure staying at Rangiputa Retreat. Vanessa & Steve are wonderful hosts. The location is fabulous and only 5 mins away from the most amazing white sand beaches! The fishing was phenomenal, we can’t say enough about this property, just the best, a piece of paradise. We will be back!

A perfect farm and beach getaway with awesome hosts

We absolutely loved our stay at Rangiputa Retreat, it's exactly what we needed after 4 months in Auckland lockdown. Waking up every morning to the fantastic view of farmland rolling down to the sea, the sounds of the cows, chooks and turkeys. Amazing sunsets! The night sky is incredible you can see the whole milky way. Vanessa and Steve were amazing hosts, we were totally spoiled during our 2 week stay with veges from their garden, a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge and freshly smoked fish from one of Steve's fishing trips. We completely fell in love with Sandy the dog! We visited the beach every day, half a dozen different local beaches all amazing. Thanks so much, this was really a family holiday to remember!

Relaxing Summer getaway

Vanessa and Steve are great hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. The retreat is a lovely getaway - within driving distance to many of Northland's great beaches, and the chance to unwind in the spa is a real treat.

Absolutely Brilliant

Steve and Vanessa are wonderful hosts. Ultra friendly and absolutely nothing is a problem. The location is brilliant with outstanding sunset views from the deck where had many a glass of wine and quite a few gin and tonics!!!. There is so much to do and see around here you are going to need a few days, or, like us, come back again to finish off seeing some of the very finest beaches in the world. If you like fishing this is one of the best locations in the country to set yourself up. We had an absolutely fantastic time and we will be back with friends very soon.
