About Helen Sheat
We are a well travelled family, I am originally from England , Neil is a true Kiwi! We love the bush and outdoors and anything creative. Our property is also home to chickens, dogs , a cat and a few landrovers!!
Helen Sheat purchased this Chalet in 2013
Why Helen Sheat chose Whangaripo
We fell in love with Matakana, the bush and so many beaches in close proximity. Plus its a very 'Arty' area and it is great to see what people are creating and be part of that.
What makes this Chalet unique
Surrounded by stunning bush of the Matakana hills: walks close by.

Had such a lovely time at this this hidden gem, it was more than perfect! We will definitely be back
Everything you need
Great little place perfect for what we needed and really handy to lots of different areas and activities. Very comfy bed too and plenty of warm bedding which I find important 👌
Really easy to organise stay and helpful hosts.
Nice little touch’s like a hook by the spa pool for your towel ❤️
Thanks for having us
weekend get away
we had a great stay at this property,
unfortunately the hot tub wasnt working and we only found out the day before we would be there but other than that everything was great !!
So glad everything else went well, apologies again, unfortunately out of our control the timing of mechanical breakdowns! Hoping the wine made up for it....
Lovely stay
We absolutely loved our stay at Tui Barn.
The weather was just lovely, the hosts were very attentive and friendly and the hot tub was just perfect.
The Matakana markets on Saturday morning are a real hub of different culture and nationalities which we totally love.
The highlight of our stay in the cottage were the regular visits from Helen's adorable little
puppy Boris who we enjoyed cuddles with and he certainly enjoyed his salmon treats. We would highly recommend this little hidden gem if you like rustic accommodation and relaxation. The cottage was very tidy and clean.
Lovely place
Lovely place, cozy little barn for 2. Amazing once you get to it. Busy gravel road. The old vehicles around the barn are an eye sore but didn’t affect our stay.
Peaceful getaway
Nice tidy accommodation in peaceful quiet location. Would have enjoyed spa pool if a little hotter. Couldn't adjust up to hotter so was luke warm.
Map
Based close to Leigh Marine park (Goat Island)for snorkelling and diving and multiple beautiful local beaches. Multiple wineries can be visited individually or on tours. There is a focus on local art galleries, Morris and James Pottery also within the area.
Unique boutique cinema within Matakana village is well worth a visit.
