Xmas get away

Nice cosy get away. Walking distance to beach and shop. More shops and gas station only 5min drive. And the view from the house of surrounding Peninsula and beaches is totally stunning (weather permitting).

Very Rustic

Lovley views, the batch had everything we needed for our stay we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Very immaculate for an older building. The only thing i would have to say was a little disappointing was the bbq wasn't realy working properly.

This was a great traditional kiwi bach. Great to be offline while here. amenities worked well. As with all older homes the locks proved tricky - especially the bathroom door! But once in we were well pleased with our accommodation choice. Great base if you are travelling up to Cape Reinga and looking around the local district - lots to see and do. The beach is fantastic and very popular. The local store had some very enticing treats in their cafe! We would stay here again.

Water view is as described and it's a very short walk to the beach which also has a playground for kids. It's as rustic as described even if the pics don't show it which is great for a classic kiwi bach experience. Hosts were accommodating and brought us a great bbq which you could use on the porch. Bathroom is slightly separated which keeps sand out of the main house. Amenities like toilet paper or beach towels was a bit sparse but you can make do. Our child is 2 and still in a portacot so that was a bit hard space wise and as there's no cooling some rooms were stuffy at night. Overall a great experience would be perfect with slightly older kids.

Would not stay again

Yes it is an old bach with great views and excellent communication with the property manager. The down side is the bathroom (we would call it semi detached) and kitchen. The hot water was tepid that’s being kind, no pressure as you had to have the hot tap on full. We heated water on the stove for the dishes (kitchen is very old with the exception of the fridge). The place is shabby ripped curtains, some things partly finished etc.

A proper little bach

The house was a little rough around the edges, but that didn't take anything away from our stay. All ammenities were in order and the property manager was very helpful in answering questions we had. Also the place had amazing views!

Kiwi Bach

This is an old fashioned and quite rustic Bach but it has everything you need including a wonderful view and it’s about a 3 minute walk to Cable Bay. It was very restful and we really would recommend it but don’t expect the Ritz. It has other charms.
