Beautiful beach front location with stunning views

Lerwick is situated by the beach with stunning views and golden sand and is nestled into a bush setting with native birds at the back door.
The house is also fully equipped with puzzles, games and local history books. Lerwick is a 15 min walk from the town center, however a vehicle is provided with the house. This is a great base for a Stewart Island adventure and the house is well set up for a large family.

We had a fantastic time in Stewart Island. We made our own fun with the wet weather. Puzzles and card games. We went on a fishing charter and ended up with a lovely meal of Blue Cod and crayfish. Ulva Island on the last day was a great way to end our time together. Would highly recommend. Our host was prompt to answer any questions we had and the use of a supplied vehicle made the distance from town non problematic for the family.

We had our second stay here. Great location just across from a beach where we got a show from a sea-lion. We saw a kiwi on the property two nights which was very special. Perfect place for a large group. Lots of towels which is great and a washing machine.

Perfection

Our group of 8 just loved the house and location. There was plenty of room for everyone and was very well equipped with everything you would need. It was very comfortable and was the ultimate kiwi bach - very homely and we loved the family photos. Being right across the road from the beach was awesome. A perfect place for a few days solitude. Hiking friends

We were a group of golfing and hiking friends. This house was perfect for a big group. Having a vehicle available to us was very convenient.

Lerwick lodge

A fabulous property for families and group of friends. The location is amazing. The use of a car which came with the property was an absolute bonus. The bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of towels. The bedrooms were clean and there was plenty of spare blankets. Quantities of wood and coal perhaps need to be checked as we couldn’t find coal and there wasnt much wood. Unfortunately the previous guests had not left the key in the lockbox. Nor had they left much diesel in the car so we topped up the diesel. A couple of oven dishes in the oven hadn’t neen cleaned so we did not use. However we loved our stay and would recommend to others.

Large versatile house by the beach

Big house that works for groups or families with everything you need for a stay in Stewart Island including a car! Right by a beautiful beach and not far out of Oban. No wifi but has cellphone reception.

Stunning home for a group of friends

The house is just stunning opposite Butterfield beach. Two sitting areas at the front allows you to sit and gaze out at sea views. Large and ample space for a group of friends to spread out. The large dinning table was great to sit around and share our meals and stories. Great to have so many bedrooms so only a couple of us had to share. The beds/pillows were comfy and having 3 bathrooms a bonus when you have 8 women sharing. The house was warm and cosy with ample wood and coal provided. Having the use of the car was the icing on the cake! Stewart island was stunning, numerous choices of walks and beaches to visit. The bird life amazing and the weather was kind. I highly recommend staying at this home and hope to be back Thank you Margaret + friends

Fabulous view!

Loved our stay here, great location with the beach at your doorstep. Lots of cosy areas in the house so you can spread out. Comfortable beds too. Really had everything you could need and the use of the car was an extra bonus. Would definitely come back!!
