We enjoyed our stay at the Lakehouse Retreat! It was the perfect place for our grandkids to enjoy the water, kayaking, the big swing and corn hole. We enjoyed the sunporch and the magnificent view of the lake! The house was charming and comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming home. Plenty of beds for our family of 8. We loved the view from the wall of windows in the living room. Lots of kayaks for everyone to enjoy, fishing off the pier, swimming and the tree swing were all a huge hit. A bonus was watching all the alligators in the waterway across the street...the kids loved it!Quotes from my kids as we prepared to leave today:"Mom, this is one of the best decisions you've ever made.""We should do this more often...at this exact place!"Thanks for helping us make some great memories!
The house is nice and a beautiful location. Host was great and responsive. The main reason for the rating was the cleanliness. House could definitely use a deep clean

Wonderful cottage with large living room that overlooks lake! Beautiful views of lake and sunrise/sunsets. Lots of beds for a large family. High recommend and would stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at the lake house celebrating my 27th birthday with all my closest friends and family! We enjoyed the views, the wildlife, the property, and the weather. Thank you so much for sharing this home with us!
Three generations of family had a fabulous time at the lake house. Our favorite part was the ease of getting into the water and having the kayaks in tip-top shape made the water play even more fun. The interior met our needs as well.
The house and location was great, only complaint is the house was not clean by any means and was filled with spider webs along with the porch. I know the shower was not cleaned prior to us coming because there was a crumbled used bar of soap in the shower.

I’m sorry the house wasn’t cleaned to your liking. If you would’ve called, I could’ve sent the cleaning crew back out to clean further with no problem.
The back porch/patio does get spider webs quickly in the summer months. Again, I would’ve been happy to address the issue had I known.
When owners don’t live near the vacation property, a courtesy call regarding issues is always welcome.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had plans to go to the beaches and other activities, but the house was so warm and inviting that we stayed in and relaxed. Missy was available immediately to answer any questions we had. We plan to book their again.
This lovely home was just what we were looking for! Rustic charm with more modern elements as well. Very spacious, nicely appointed, all the amenities you need……And the view…… Breathtaking!!

We are thrilled you had a nice relaxing visit! Please come back next year!
Very nice property. Great place with family and children. We attended a wedding nearby so unfortunately did not stay at the house much.
We’ll be back to enjoy boating and sunsets!
Second time we've stayed. Very convenient to the event location. Lots of space.

About the host

Growing up going to Lake Waccamaw holds many dear memories. We would stay at our grandparents' house and spend countless days on the lake fishing, boating, and tubing. We feel Lake Waccamaw is North Carolina's best-kept secret. With over 2,000 acres of state parkland, the lake has remained very residential with little to no commercial development. Four generations have enjoyed funfilled summers on the water.
