Kaimata Retreat is consisted of Korimako Lodge, Kotare Studio, and Kahu Studio. The interior is divided into two buildings, one side comprising of two stylish suites and a guest laundry. The other building has one suite and a large open plan dining, lounge and kitchen area.
The Korimako Lodge offers everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a full kitchen, lounge with a fireplace, dining area, bathroom, master bedroom with a king bed, and an expansive deck with stunning inlet views.
The Kotare room, adjacent to the Kahu room in the west wing, has French doors opening onto the deck with sweeping views over the inlet. It features a queen bed, tea and coffee making facilities, and an ensuite with a shower, vanity, and toilet.
The Kahu room, located at the end corner of the west wing, faces north and west with wrap-around windows and French doors opening onto a deck with stunning inlet views. It also features a queen bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, and an ensuite with a shower, vanity, and toilet.
The Kotare, or Kingfisher, is a smaller bird with a strong beak and brilliant greenish-blue coloring. This protected native bird can be seen perching on driftwood and feeding on small crabs. The Kahu, or Australasian Harrier Hawk, is another protected native bird, regularly seen gliding over the retreat and hunting around the pastured hills.
