RELICS RESERVE - LODGE, one of two luxury homes that comprise what was formerly known as “Relics Ranch”, creatively blends history, nature, and design into every corner of the property. Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Wimberley, TX, our unique and secluded 11-acre retreat is perfect for couples, families, and small groups year-round with local wineries, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and other vacation comforts a mere walk or brief drive away. The Lodge features 2 king suites, and 1 comfy sleeper sofas with luxury bedding located in the great room and with 2 full bathrooms. The home boasts an eclectic mix of rustic and modern furnishings originally designed and curated by the previous owners of Relics Ranch, HGTV designer, Bex Hale, and her husband, David Hale. Think Restoration Hardware meets the Texas Hill Country! Relics has been a standout participant in the annual home tour and is an impressive example of Hill Country finery.
OVERVIEW and HISTORY OF THE LODGE:
-The “LODGE” offers a truly beautiful esthetic haven combining old world charm with luxurious design features - all with guest experience at top of mind. Erected in 2007 using massive hand-hewn timbers, her construction serves as a testament to history and the incredible craftsmanship of the first generations of men who came to America. The Lodge offers 2 equally spacious and beautifully-appointed, oversized king suites, each with their own private ensuite baths with curved stone showers and stand-alone deep, copper soaking tubs. The great room has comfortable seating, a towering stone wood-burning fireplace, copper dining table for 6, and a party bar/coffee bar with stools and a mini kitchen (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and copper sink). The sofa pulls out to a comfy queen bed with a plush mattress topper.
Built with primitively logged wooden beams originally crafted and utilized for a 1820’s barn in Gettysburg, PA before their incorporation into The Lodge at Relics. The walls of the home are made from corrugated metal reclaimed from the barn’s roof built in the 1940s. Window and door casings were salvaged from a late 1800s home on the Jersey Shore home and solid Tiger Oak doors add further historical depth. Inside, the furnishings continue the narrative with copper tables, a massive cabinet made of architectural elements salvaged from an Indian palace, and curated décor from vintage shops across Texas. Each bedroom suite features its own unique, internationally sourced headboard. Master Suite #1 offers a 200 year old hand-carved church doors from Guadalajara, Mexico. Master Suite #2 offers a 19th century hand-forged iron gate from France.
