About the host
Hosted by Kacey Wuelfert
Hello! We are a family of 3 - Dan, Kac and Henry Wuelfert who travelled Australia in our van for 3 years. Both Dan & Kac had worked for 20 years in their respective careers, Dan in the military and Kac as a lawyer before throwing it all in so to speak to see our beautiful country, de stress and spend time as a family.
With a love of all things outdoor we spent our travel days on the beach, fishing, snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding, hiking, biking and snowboarding. But it was ultimately the mountains which stole our heart. We purchased 100 acres in Moonbah and knew we wanted to share its beauty with fellow adventurists looking to immerse themselves in nature and unwind from the pressures of everyday life. The property is named Wuelf & the Fallow after our surname, which lucky for us resembles the clever and formidable Wolf as well as the Fallow being the type of deer found on our property. So the tiny has been aptly dubbed the "Cozy Den".
We have also gained an extra family member, our big Bernese Mountain Dog, Ted who loves nothing more than meeting new people, belly rubs and hugs .... lots of hugs.
We can't wait to share our new adventure with you.
Why they chose this property
The Snowy Mountains are outdoor enthusiasts and adventurists dream with snowboarding and skiing in Winter and mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, fishing and water sports in Summer. Plus the region is breathtakingly beautiful with snow tipped mountains, valleys and Lake Jindabyne as your backdrop.
What makes this property unique
Our property has breathtaking mountain views including of Perisher, enchanting snow gums and valleys. At sunset the sun reflects over the trees and dam giving it a golden reflection. The colours of the Snowies, particularly at sunrise and sunset, feel like you are looking at a picture too beautiful to be real.
Sitting at 1100m we experience regular snow fall and you could find yourself waking up to a blanket of snow. On clear nights enjoy a sky full of stars by the fire or from your skylight in bed. There is also ample wildlife to be found including deer, kangaroos, echidnas, wombats, foxes and plenty of birdlife.
