Información de la propiedad
Pet-friendly Jarrah Cottage, a cosy home with spacious block located in Waroona.
Welcome to Jarrah Cottage, a cosy home located in Waroona, 110km south of Perth. Waroona enjoys a friendly community and is closer to Perth and more affordable compared to other typical travel destinations in South West WA.
This cottage has been fully renovated and despite the spacious block, chirping birds and rural vibe, is walking distance to shops and pubs. It offers reverse cycle air-conditioning throughout, fire place, fire pit, bbq, outdoor dining, playground and much more.
The Space
Jarrah Cottage is recently renovated and well appointed, with everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. It has three bedrooms (one king-size, one queen-size, and one double bed), one bathroom with a toilet, and an additional toilet in the laundry area. Reverse-cycle air conditioning is provided in each of the three bedrooms, as well as the living area. Linen and towels are provided for each bedroom. The house includes laundry, washing machine, wifi, ceiling fans, drip coffee machine (BYO ground coffee beans), well appointed kitchen, induction cooktop, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, oven and hairdryer. The living area includes a sofa bed, smart TV, work desk and fireplace. The backyard is fully fenced and features a playground, sand pit, undercover deck, bluetooth speaker system, BBQ, outdoor dining area, outdoor lounge, swing chair, fire pit, grassed areas, fruit trees, and a veggie patch.
The Name
Jarrah is a tough, beautiful and resilient timber that grows only in the South West region of Western Australia. Waroona was born out of the Jarrah industry in the 1890s. The land that Jarrah Cottage is built on was once part of the original timber mill facility that operated from the 1890s to World War 2. The structural framing of the floor, walls, and roof of Jarrah Cottage are constructed of Jarrah, and the floorboards are also Jarrah. The bench seat on the front porch is made from structural Jarrah that was recovered from a historic timber drying shed that was located on the property.
The Town
Waroona is situated at the foot of the Darling Range and serves as an ideal base for exploring the region and its adjacent towns, including Mandurah, Harvey, Pinjarra, Dwellingup, and Preston Beach. Local attractions and activities include wineries, Waroona Dam, Drakesbrook Weir, Lake Clifton, Lane Poole Reserve, Murray River, Jarrah forests, zipline adventures, water skiing, kayaking, walking trails, mountain bike riding trails, trout fishing, beach fishing, forest four-wheel drive trails and beach access for four-wheel drives. Further afield, but within easy day-trip distance, are Bunbury, Australind, Ferguson Valley, Collie, Wellington Dam, North Dandalup Dam, South Dandalup Dam, Serpentine Dam and Serpentine Falls.
Pets
Pets are charged at $50 per stay (maximum 2 pets). Please include number of pets in guest details so appropriate fee can be added.
