This house is gorgeous and spacey! We were able to fit all the girls and 5 adults perfectly. The host is also extremely prompt when you need anything and makes sure to make you feel welcome! We will be back!

This would have been great, had the people renting it responded promptly to our needs. We had no way to talk with a person live on a phone. I am severely disappointed in the level of care shown to people who spent thousands of dollars to rent this house for the weekend. Ants in bedrooms is not acceptable, nor is not having access to a live person to address concerns like this. Consider me severely disappointed.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this beach house. The location is awesome, and the beach access is great. We have a big family that was all down to see my wife and me get married, and the house was the perfect size. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that the house needs some maintenance/updates. The elevator doesn't work, the garage doors are broken, the two back doors to the decks on the second and third floor take a lot of work to get locked, and the backyard should have a gate to access the public parking behind the house. I would rent this place again the next time we have all the family down for a visit.

Be ready for surprises!

Excellent location but the house overall is filthy. The house in general is dirty .1- Every room is dirty, dirty sheets , hair in the pillow cases , restrooms have accumulated lots of dirt in every corner, mold on base boards. 2-Upstairs rooms have a bad smell and A/C is bad.3-Backyard porch is filthy , beehive with swarming bees next to grilling area . 4- Rusted and broken furniture in balcony. We would never stay in this house again. Its sad because it has en excellent location but is not worth it. The disappointment was really bad. I'm not putting my family thru this again.

The Sea La Vie home was beautiful and close to the beach as advertised. Our group of 9 was able to stay all in one place while we visited Galveston. The neighborhood was quaint and charming. However, When you see amenities; face value is what you will be getting. Refrigerator has no working ice or water (when this was brought to owners attention, they said they just listed fridge as amenity) there was half a roll of paper towels left behind for the week (we searched and couldn’t find any anywhere). You can technically walk to the beach from the house, but don’t expect a gate in the backyard leading to it. There is a walk way a few houses down or a drive over to the parking lot where there is public beach access. Grill but no charcoal (actually one handful of charcoal was left in the bag, not enough to cook with)Maintenance came to remove a bee swarm during our stay, went outside to see strangers looking into our cars. Then we couldn’t use the balconies due to angry bees. Pack your own hand soap, shampoo, condition, etc. There was not enough for one person to use for their stay, let alone our 9. TLDR; nice place and GREAT location, but pack EVERYTHING you think you’d need for anything there! Bee prepared!

Broken door that was hard to slide asked for it to be fixed but wasn’t
Tiny washer & dryer for a place that sleeps 22 run dryer 3x to dry towels. No beach towels provided!
Couldn’t get it to stop beeping so we unplugged

Graduation Weekend

Lots of family that had to travel across the country to visit. It was awesome. We so appreciated having a place to cook and stay together and catch up. You just can't do that in a hotel. I so appreciate people who share their homes! This was so pleasant to just see the ocean from all decks!! Loved it.

Nice get away house!

Stayed for a couple nights, most bed were not comfortable at all very hard other then the mater bed room beds. Floors seemed unswept and needing moped when we arrived. Couches and seats were very stained and dirty as well. Seems like the need new cleaning people. The view of the house wasn't bad and the distance walk to the beach wasn’t very far decent distance. Elevator was locked off, one of the garage doors wasn’t able to be open and came unscrewed from the wall. Overall decent place for a get a way trip!

Didn’t live up to listing

Pretty rough all around house. Generally it was clean enough but things like broken windows, a dehumidifier aluminum taped in kitchen, no cooking pan, no broom etc. also the number of towels was severely lacking and the back door did not lock (broken). It’s wasn’t the worst stay but there was a ton of room for improvement. Water filter on fridge didn’t work either.

East Beach House

We enjoyed the layout of the house. Plenty of room for everyone. The private ocean access was fun & enjoyable. The ocean roar with sun up & sun down views were great. We enjoyed the beach, private walks, Katie’s seafood, The Strand, Duck ride, Murdocks, & Moody Gardens.

Potentially fabulous, but fell flat

The house was once upon a time wonderful but it has seen better days. On arrival one could see many problems on the outside of the house. Windows cloudy, green mold on drainage/gutter and stairwell. Opening the front door, a wall of Fabuliso scent hits you in the face. The floor was sticky and dirty, even though I saw the maids mop upon arrival. The bedrooms were fine but the bedding was cheap. In a 500 a night stay one would hope for at least cotton sheets but no, cheap bamboo or polyester is what we had. Windows and doors were difficult to open. Some impossible to open and close. The kitchen was a Goodwill collection of everything from the glasses and cups to all the mismatched cookware all put away Helter Skelter The refridgerator ice machine was not in working order and there was one half used roll of paper towels. The bottom oven did not work. In the property description it stated 6 parking spots. But the garage doors were in terrible shape and would not open. Dangerous too. If opened they could have fallen on some unsuspecting victim. The Bar-B-Q was solidly rusted out with no clean utensils to be found however I would not have used it because it was nasty looking. No beach towels or beach chairs were provided. In closing I wanted this to be a positive vacation with my family but it turned out to be very disappointing. I am a VRBO owner. I try to please my guests always. Clean cotton sheets and towels and always spick and span. I hope this helps.

Nice and yet disappointing

The place is a bit tired..,1) two codes are needed: one for the gate to the property and one for the home. They goofed and gave me only one code which they said was for the home but was for the gate. Took time to get this sorted.2) not as clean as hoped. Not dirty per se but found cheerios on the floor and sauce on the cupboards which my gals wiped off.3) my shower had mold around bottom edges4) they’ve got three portable air conditioners with hoses through the windows. Clearly mechanical issues with the hvac.5) says it’s got a bbq. Rusted piece of junk6) two garage doors both of which won’t open. Cables off the tracks and one door cockeyed7) one of the outside steps going up was warped.Nice enough place but I’ll rent a different one next time

New years trip

Great house and a very quiet gated neighborhood, beach access within neighborhood and city access on east side.The house is huge and the master bed is very comfortable.It’s on the east end and close to the Strand, easy navigation to what ever your plans entail, would and will stay here again
