My experience at this rental house was poor. The very first day when I arrived the house was not ready. There was food and garbage on the kitchen table, pair of used sneakers by the front door, used tissues in the primary bedroom and bathroom. I took pictures. The yard looked like a construction site with used old vehicles, boat and trailers and a broken garage door left partially open. The oven was broken and the element had to be replaced right before XMas day so I could bake the turkey. But the most disturbing thing staying in that house was the constant presence of the host on the property. He was there every day for one reason or the other. When he was fixing the element for the oven, he just walked into the house from the basement, right into the kitchen, startling my children. We did not know that he had access to entering the house from the basement. This explained why many times I would be alone in the house and hearing voices and I didn’t know where they came from. I felt unsafe in that house as it was next to a very busy street. I appreciate the host for clearing the snow but I did not appreciate his constant presence on the property while we were renting. That wasn’t stipulated in the contract. I will not rent this property again. It is to be noted that I left the property on the 27th of Dec instead of the 31st. I would appreciate getting a refund for those 4 days as a form of compensation for this poor rental experience.
