About this property

Evergreen Estate Muriwai Valley - peaceful comfortable country setting.

When you arrive at Evergreen Estate you will find a beautifully manicured country house and cottage. The seperate cottage or guest house will be your home away from home with all the creature comforts.
Fully established English gardens. The main house was established as a shearing quarters in 1922, the cottage was constructed in early 2000.
Recently almost fully refurbished the cottage contains two bedrooms, one slightly more generous than the other, lovely indoor outdoor sheltered patio, a very functional kitchen, dining and lounge area.
With a stunning outlook into the Muriwai Valley, and most likely a friendly equine.
Your accomodation has all the luxuries of home, a full size kitchen with everything required to enjoy your stay. The host enjoys cooking and has put items into the kitchen that she would use to prepare food in her own home.
List of items: Enjoy a bbq while seated on a comfortable outdoor furniture on a large covered patio -
The handy Nespresso machine and selection of pods to start your day, or tea/ hot chocolate and sweet treat.
Jug, toaster, beater, blender, air fryer, air conditioning/heating, microwave.
A selection of complimentary cold drinks in the fridge, dishwasher, full sized Fridge/freezer, a selection of condiments, cooking oil and herbs and spices.
If it’s raining snuggle up and watch a good movie. Or there are board games available to play - the iconic noughts and crosses, monopoly, cards.
There is a queen sized bed configuration in each bedroom, one room is slightly smaller but still comfortable, the larger room has a larger storage space.
Extra blankets, a fan, wall mounted heaters, electric blankets available, plus extra blankets and pillows on request.
There are outdoor games in the hall cupboard, picnic basket and beach towels.
The bathroom is compact but very functional with large extractor fan, and heat lamps.
There is covered parking for 2 cars and a third parking bay.
The cottage is also fully compliant for Nz Healthy Home Standards.

Muriwai Gannet Colony: View the spectacular gannet colony, especially from October to February.
Coastal walks: Take short walks to scenic lookouts, including the one overlooking the gannet colony. Walk through the Muriwai beach cave at dead low tide.
Bird watching: Observe native birds and the rugged coastline with its black sand beaches.

Adventure and sports:
Hot pools:
Local Parakai hot pools and spa located 25mins due north of Muriwai provide a fun and entertaining day out.
Surfing: Muriwai beach is popular for surfing, and Maukatia / Māori Bay offers more consistent waves, and a stunning outlook. Also contact in advance Muriwai Surf School for structured lessons.
Horse riding: Enjoy horse riding tours or use the designated sand-based loop trail through the Five Mile Strip.
Mountain biking: Explore the many downhill and freeride trails located in the nearby pine forests.
Blokarting and kite flying: Enjoy flying kites on the open dunes or try blokarting.
Beach activities: Drive on the beach with a 4WD (at low tide), fly a drone, or swim between the patrolled flags.
Dining: Visit local restaurants like Soljans, The Game Keepers restaurant at the Settlers Lodge, The Riverhead, The Hive, The Curry Leaf, The Hunting Lodge, The Muriwai Deli, The Grindstone Cafe, The Full Moon Cafe, Sen Doe Thai, or the Beer spot with its famous caravan food choices, enjoy cooking classes at Good From Scratch. - does need to be booked in advance and subject to availability of numbers.
Wine tours: Sip wine on the nearby Kumeu Wine Trail.
Golfing at Muriwai:
Idyllic rugged west coast beach outlook while you golf has to be a fabulous experience.
Fishing: Shelly Beach has a lovely jetty to fish from, as does Helensville, but charters are available from Shelly Beach, and Riverhead.
Unique attraction:
Franklin Farms - where you will be emerged in a flurry of Monarch butterflies, able to walk through a corn maize, stand tall next to several different types of sunflower, or pet a friendly farm animal. We are easily located 10 minutes from Waimauku turn off as you to Muriwai Beach - follow till you get to Muriwai Valley Road then take the first left at the intersection and we are 500meters up on the left on Cable Road.
