About this property

Hunter Valley Cottage · Hot Tub · Fireplace · Pet Friendly

Winter in the Hunter Valley is something else. Fog settles over the vines at dawn, the valley goes quiet, and there's nowhere better to be than a private hot tub with a glass of local Semillon.

Hejira was built for this season.

Step outside on a cool morning and watch for kangaroos grazing at the front fence as mist rolls in off the vines. Come evening, sink into the private hot tub under an open sky.

Pull the sofa close to the gas fireplace, open something from a nearby cellar door, and let the night stretch out.

THE SPACE
The living room is warm and unhurried - timber floors, a deep sofa, and a gas fireplace that takes the edge off a cold evening. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable year-round.

The kitchen is fully equipped for slow weekend breakfasts and shared dinners - 5-burner gas stove, extra-large oven, island bench, and a Lavazza coffee machine.

Three calm bedrooms:
· Bedroom 1 — Queen bed
· Bedroom 2 — Queen bed
· Bedroom 3 — Two single beds

The bathroom is modern and fresh with a walk-in shower, feature tiles, and gold fixtures.

OUTSIDE
Covered veranda with BBQ overlooking the lawn. The private hot tub sits just off the deck — best experienced on a cool night with something from Brokenwood or Tower Estate. Rope swing in the backyard.

DOGS WELCOME
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. The property suits dogs accustomed to indoor living. Pets must not be left unattended or on furniture.

THE AREA
10-minute walk to Cessnock. Short drive to Pokolbin and Lovedale wine country. Minutes from the Lovedale Long Lunch (May), Hunter Valley Winter Festival (June–August), and some of Australia's best cellar doors — Brokenwood, Tower Estate, Tamburlaine, and more.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Why they chose this property

Like many, we wanted to create a place to step away from city life, somewhere slower, quieter, and grounded. As amateur wine tasters and regular visitors to the Hunter, we’ve shaped this home as a relaxed base for exploring local wineries, long lunches, and unhurried days.

What makes this property unique

We have kept its 1900s cottage style charm whilst refreshing it for today's tastes.
