Cute As A Bug Cottage On The Shores of Big Manistique Lake

Our 'Cozy Cottage' is the quintessential UP knotty pine cottage. Quaint and cozy and right on the east shore of Big Manistique Lake, It's the perfect place to enjoy all that Michigan's 4 seasons have to offer. Cozy Cottage is centrally located in the eastern UP so many of the favorite attractions are within an hours drive.

If you're just looking for a place to relax and enjoy the lake, Cozy Cottage has a lakefront deck with ample seating, an outdoor table for dining, and a gas BBQ. There is a fire pit just feet from the shoreline for spectacular sunset views, and there is a stone fireplace inside.

Cozy Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen that includes a coffee pot, toaster, crock pot, air fryer, griddle and Ninja blender. We have a Reverse Osmosis drinking water system so you don't need to buy bottled water. Full dinnerware is supplied. The spacious dining room seats 6. All bed linens and bath towels are provided as well as all paper products. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
We have the Highline Fiber Optics so you’ll have excellent TV viewing in the living room and both bedrooms, and great WIFI for your phones and computers.

We have a dock if you're bringing a boat and we are only 500 feet away from a public launch. Our lot is private to the road and there is space to park your trailers behind the garage. We have 3 kayaks available for guest use and we provide the lifejackets. There are 2 tubs of kiddie beach toys too!

If you're visiting in the winter, there is a lean to off the garage for your snow machines. Groomed trails are just a few miles away. Ice fishing is right outside your door and dog sledding is available near Newberry!

We love our Cozy Cottage and have vacationed here ourselves before we bought it. We hope you will love it too!

Our stay at Cozy Cottage could not have been better. Our hosts were great at communicating with us and even made sure it was easy for us to get into the cottage since it was pouring rain when we arrived. The cottage was spotless, and the BEST stocked VRBO we have stayed in. There were so many thoughtful touches that helped us to feel right at home and made the stay even better! I would definitely recommend staying here and can’t wait to visit again!

Beautiful Quiet Cottage

This is our 4th time staying at the cozy cottage and we just love it here. The property is beautifully maintained and located lakefront. It’s our favorite place to just come and relax.

Cozy Cottage is right!

We couldn't have picked a better spot for our UP adventure! From kayaking and casting off the dock to board games after dinner, my family found the Cozy Cottage to be a great home base to come back to after rock hounding on the various UP beaches every day. We had everything we needed right there and the accommodations were very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves visiting the UP again.

Not very private

Inside was decorated fantastic and had everything needed. We use to more private secluded cabins and we've rented alot. Neighbors close here and campground 2 door down with barking dogs all the time

Thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you were happy with the cottage, but we want to address your complaint. In the 2 years that we have owned Cozy Cottage we have never had anyone mention the campground or a noise issue. In fact, most have commented how relaxing their stay was. The small campground is a 12 site rustic campground that is rarely even filled to capacity, with the owner onsite. We thought it was odd that the owner would allow dogs to be barking 'all the time' as most campgrounds monitor that for the comfort of all their guests. As soon as we got your message about a dog barking we turned on the audio part of our security system to see how bad it was. Nothing! We listened again for a few minutes at random times for the next few days, again nothing. I'm sure there was a dog barking at some point, but it sounds like it was dealt with. To say that there were dogs barking all the time is a bit of a stretch. We're very sorry you weren't 100% happy with your stay. We do all we can to give our guests a great experience, but some things are out of our control.

The cozy cottage is a little piece of heaven on earth. We've stayed twice now and plan on coming back yearly. The cottage is perfectly stocked with everything you need and is so comfortable. The lake is perfect for swimming and shallow for a long way out - excellent for families. The hosts provide a great welcome book with all the info you need, and are very fast at communicating if you have any questions during your stay. We've rented houses all over the U.P. and this one remains one of our absolute favorites.

Cozy just like the description

Very clean and cozy. One of the most stocked cabins we’ve stayed at. We stayed in February and the lake view was magnificent. Lots to do in the area if you're adventurous. This one will be on our summer vacation lists.

Outstanding little cottage!

We absolutely loved it. So cozy, everything is so well thought off, perfectly stocked with all kinds of utensils and necessities. Lovely view of the lake and great location central to explore the area.
