What a beautiful lake location. Owners, Sue and Brian, have thought of everything you’ll need for a cozy, comfortable stay. It was an extra bonus having access to their kayaks, canoe, and stand-up paddle boards. I’m already looking forward to staying here again next summer.

The Perfect MN Cabin Weekend!

We stayed over 4th of July weekend with our two kids (3 and 6), and had such a great experience. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The lake was beautiful! Clear water, perfect for swimming, and the beach was one of our favorite parts. It was sandy, well-maintained, and great for both kids and adults. The gradual entry was perfect for the kids, as the description reads. Our kids could enjoy the water without us needing to worry. We spent our days swimming, fishing, and soaking up the sunshine. The fireworks over the lake were a fun and memorable way to celebrate the holiday. We lucked out with gorgeous weather all weekend, which made it easy to enjoy everything the property had to offer.The hosts were wonderful. Welcoming and helpful, but also respectful of our space. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience here.It was exactly the kind of weekend we were hoping for. Relaxing, fun, and full of quality time with family. We’d absolutely come back!

Amazing

It was perfect, nice quiet lake, kayaks were provided for both adults and children, the cabin was perfect for our family, and very close to stores and other lakes should you want to explore outside the area!

quick summer trip

My family of four really enjoyed this lake front property. The backyard was a dream. Beautiful views, fire pit, and access to the canoe and kayaks were a big hit for us. We ate most meals outside at the little table on the deck. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the check in/check out process was easy. The hosts are right next door but we hardly noticed. They are very kind and have a sweet dog that my son loved. We would stay again.

Perfect family getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay! Highlights: -Our kids (5, 7, 11) all loved the beach, floating dock, kayaks, & fire pit for s’mores. -We spent so many great hours enjoying the quiet lake with clear, clean water & soft sand. -The property was cute, cozy, & exactly as advertised. They had lots of thoughtful amenities included (paper towels, beach toys, firewood, etc.). Brian & Sue were very kind & helpful with everything we needed. -Great location - easy to get to restaurants & shopping nearby. It was a tight squeeze for our family sleeping-wise, but overall it was perfect for what we needed. We spent most of our time outside anyway. We would definitely come back!

SUNNY BEACH COTTAGE FOR THE WIN!

Sue and Brian do a great job with this place! Everything was exactly as listed. For us, the big draw was the beautiful sandy walk-in beach. It was perfect. And the fact that kayaks and a canoe were provided was a major deal, because we didn't have to bring those things with. The swim platform is another great thing. Oh, and they even provided beach towels, which is also 1 less thing we had to bring. And all of this is just steps from the cabin. The cabin itself was cozy and had the things that we needed. There were even a few little extra touches that they had that made us feel welcomed. It is just an absolutely beautiful setting, and was a wonderful place for us to stay. Thank you so much for helping our family create happy and lasting memories!

Beautiful view from the deck

During the whole month of June 2024, we enjoyed the lovely lake and watching the dragonflies, butterflies, rainbows, largemouth bass, deer, chipmunk, squirrels (black, red, grey), red fox and painted and snapping turtles (laying eggs). Various birds: eagle (catching fish by the dock), common loon (and babies), ducks (and babies), downy woodpecker, hairy woodpecker, ruby throated hummingbird, great blue heron (fishing off the doc), ovenbird, red-breasted nuthatch, white-breasted nuthatch, red-headed woodpecker, pileated woodpecker, seagull. Our hosts were friendly and accommodating. We chatted with them often.

Wonderful cabin

Our family of 5 stayed in this cabin and completely enjoyed it. We brought a small air mattress for our 3 year old and it was perfect. Our kids loved the sandy beach and kids kayaks. Nice location on a smaller lake with many restaurants within 10 minutes of the cabin. The owners were great and I would recommend this cabin.

Cute Cottage for Family/Couples Looking for Down Time

The adorably decorated and well-stocked cottage was a perfect getaway for our family (parents plus our young adult kids). A person could legitimately pack their clothing, personal toiletries, and food and beverages, and be set. We overpacked. We enjoyed our time on the lake, bonfires on the beach, and card/dice games on the patio. The sandy beach was clean and would be great for little kids to build sandcastles there and older kids can enjoy the swimming dock to jump from. We used the canoe and kayaks, and brought our own paddle boards to lounge on the lake and catch the sunsets. The lake is overall quiet and calm. Residents were out on their pontoons and jet-skis waterskiing. Breezey Point Resort is less than ten minutes away and we rented a pontoon from there for a day. We looked into renting a pontoon/boat to have on the lake, but ended up going this route -- less hassle and expense. The location is ideal, as you're 10-15 minutes away from Nisswa and Pequot Lakes for coffee runs, shopping, eating out, or hitting Big Ax Brewery. Nisswa has turtle racing on Wednesdays. (Although, I recommend making the trek to the Turtle Race Capitol of Longville for a better experience.) Maci, the owner's older golden retriever, was adorable and sweet. Sue and Brian were great hosts. And somehow, magically, delivered the best weather of the summer for us. Thanks for a great stay.

Great Family Spot

This is the perfect place to stay for young families. The beach is big and clean and the water is clear of weeds. Its perfect for kiddos who want to just splash around or are working on some swimming skills! They also have a floating dock for older ones. The hosts also have plenty of beach toys to play with and lots of seating! Our boys loved getting visits from the hosts dog Maci and cant wait to go back next summer.

The best place

This is our 3rd year coming to the beach cottage. Brian and Susan are amazing hosts and so friendly. We look forward to this vacation every year! It is the perfect little cabin close to the lake! If you’re considering this cabin, you need to book it now!

Wonderful place

We loved our stay! The cabin was so cute and perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children). We did a fair amount of cooking and had everything we needed. The location is great. Close to parks, shopping, restaurants, etc. Our favorite part was the beach. Nice sandy shoreline and the water was so clear. Hosts were very kind as well and answered our questions very quickly. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding sandy beach, CLEAR lake, and immaculate cabin

When heading "up north" one typically has hopes for that ideal clear lake, with no elevation as you enjoy a short walk to the beautifully groomed sandy beach. Realistically, that combo is very difficult to find. However, Sue and Brian's cabin truly has that trifecta! Absolutely beautiful! Not only is the cabin VERY clean and well cared for, it also has MANY extras one would need/want. While the listing will call out all the water toys, fire pit supplies, linens, etc-please know the kitchen is nicely stocked as well- full sharp knife set, strainers, coffee pot, nice mix of pans, plenty of dishes, etc- all in good shape! Additionally Sue has stocked with others smaller items that may come in handy (Scissors, paper, food wrap, s'more supplies, extra blankets.)- Very well thought out! We loved heading into Nisswa or Baxter (great resteraunts within 10-15 minutes of cabin) and we took advantage of the paved bike trains nearby (Hundreds of miles of trails). We had a rainy day while up north and found a multi-screen theatre close by and the best fresh roasted coffee and scones in Nisswa! YUM! If sitting by the fire pit at night a listening to the loons and watching a sunset is of interest to you, this will be a nice spot for that as well. ( Cabin faces south so sunset was to our right...no big deal, we just turned our chairs)- Tranquil and beautiful!

Awesome family getaway

This was our second time at this cabin. We loved going back because the swimming beach is perfect. Our boys, 6.5 and 2.5 had a lot of fun swimming, kayaking and playing in the sand. The beach is clean and the lake very clear. Love the views from the cabin and how close it is to shopping and other fun. We will be back again!

Great fun on the lake

This property has a lakeside beach that is perfect for families! Great places to eat and visit all within 15 minutes drive. The owners were very kind and hospitable! 5 stars!

Perfect for us!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Pelican over 4th of July weekend. The water was clean and very clear, great for swimming and kayaking! We loved the beach fire pit and access to nearby events. The cozy cabin is perfect for 1-3 people and has been nicely updated. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

Perfect Spot to make a great Memories

The pictures and description don’t do it justice. It is by far my favorite rental in MN. It’s close enough to town to get what you need for your time away but far enough to feel like you are in your own secret paradise. The quiet and serene atmosphere invite you in to recharge and just capture every sweet moment with your family. The kayaking was great on the lake and made our time extra special. I did see reviews about the owners being close. Yes, that’s true but my experience wasn’t anything like what others described. The owners respected our time there and gave us all the privacy we needed for our getaway. The times they engaged in conversation were times that we started it. They were personable and I could tell they went to extra effort to make us feel right at home. Loved the s’more kit waiting for us, the fresh coffee, all supplies needed for a great fire, and so much more. Thank you for the most amazing experience! We will definitely be making this an annual stay for our family.

Beat beach around!

What an amazing property! The cabin is perfect and well stocked. Brian and Sue (the property owners) are on site and amazing hosts! The proximity to the lake makes this the ultimate vacation destination for families. Let the kids go jump off the raft and you can watch them from the deck or just inside the cabin. The lake is crystal clear and small, so not much boating traffic. Highly recommended, we will be coming back again for our third summer!
