(Contact us for significantly reduced rates for 30+ days) This delightful retreat is located on the main floor of a turn-of-the-last-century house in historic old Ballard. It is a complete, fully functional home with a fully equipped kitchen. Nothing is shared with the upper unit except laundry facilities in the shared entry. Acoustic insulation insures that you will hear little if anything from your upstairs neighbor.

Ballard has everything you could want. Living in this home, it's all at your doorstep! Within 1 block you can enjoy espresso and some of the best bread and French pastries in Seattle. Within a 6 block radius you can enjoy an upscale movie house, a diverse array of restaurants, shops and the fabulous year-round Sunday Farmer’s Market offering fresh locally grown produce and products. If your visit is job-related, you will also have access to a post office, FedEx, and built-green public library.

A detailed renovation was completed in 2008, in keeping with the home's original character. Wide plank oak floors extend throughout, including the new kitchen. The kitchen is cook-friendly and there is an herb garden for your enjoyment. Guests can chat with the chef while sitting at the breakfast table. The main dining room can seat six and there is still room for a sofa. Barn doors separate the dining room from the very spacious living room. It can be closed off for privacy and has two queen sized high end, no-bar hide-a-beds and a 26 inch flat screen TV. There is another queen sized sleigh bed in the private bedroom with lots of drawer space and ample storage.

The acoustic insulation is amazing! This home is very peaceful and quiet.

Great stay at Victorian Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Victorian Retreat for 4 weeks while visiting family and could not have been happier with our stay. The Victorian Retreat is close to all the amenities that Ballard offers, including restaurants, groceries, bakeries, shopping and a wide variety of entertainment options. It is very walkable and we were car-free for most of our stay.

The home is very nicely furnished with all that you need to make your stay enjoyable. We had ample linens, television with local channels plus Amazon Fire TV stick, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, and lots of nice to haves, such as a Bose radio, reading lights, and plenty of closet and dresser space. We would definitely stay there again!

A perfect place to stay in Ballard

  • 5 of 5

The Ballard Victorian was perfect for us. It was a pleasant place to hang out and to come home to. It us well appointed and generously proportioned. The hosts managed a perfect blend of helpful and unobtrusive. The Ballard Victorian is a perfect landing spot.

Perfect location, bright, spacious and clean home

  • 5 of 5

We had another wonderful stay at the Ballard Victorian! We love the big south facing windows in the living room and spacious layout for our small family of three. Everything in the home is clean, nicely updated and well maintained. The location can't be beat if you enjoy walking and bussing around town. We always stop at the library (only two blocks away) several times during our stays to borrow books for ourselves and our daughter, as they have a large section of books to borrow without a library card. In this location, you are close to everything in Ballard and an easy express bus ride to Seattle Center or downtown. We look forward to another visit soon!

Great find in Ballard

  • 5 of 5

This home worked perfectly for our stay in the Seattle area. Ballard has so much to offer...restaurants, coffee houses, shopping...and it's all within a short walk from this property. Mary was readily available for questions and she had the home lit up and welcoming on our late arrival. My only regret is that we were so busy out exploring that we did not spend much time in the home. The kitchen was well supplied had we wanted to do any cooking. The pull-out sofas were comfortable as was the bed. There was plenty of living space for the 4 adults in our party.
