About Gordon and Judy Soares
We have owned the sea Ranch Lighthouse for many years and loved bringing our two daughters there every summer when we lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. We now have 9 grandchildren who also love getting to the house and enjoying all that it has to offer. We all live in Colorado now and want YOU to enjoy what we have loved and enjoyed for so long.
Why Gordon and Judy Soares chose Sea Ranch
We love our "Lighthouse"! We love the setting on the meadow. We love being able to see the sheep mowing down the grass just outside our window as the Shepherd moves them from North to South and back again all along the Ranch. We love seeing the ocean and passing Whales; the fishing, the resting on the beach and soaking in the hot tub. We love walking to Monarch Glen when the butterflies are resting there. We love the starry nights from the hot tub where our breath is taken away by the myriad of stars. We love sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the hawks, the wild turkeys, the occasional fox and even the little gophers poking their heads above ground to look around. This is a place you won't forget.

Refuge during "Shelter in Place"
We had a wonderful 5 day stay during the coronavirus shutdown. Check in was very easy. This is a very comfortable house. Beds were great, firm as I like them. Kitchen was well stocked. I really enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunsets. Thanks
Lovely Searanch Home
This was a great location, I highly recommend it. The owners were very communicative and the house was charming. The view from the large windows and deck were lovely - we saw deer in the morning and whales in the afternoon. The house was also well stocked.
THANK YOU FOR THE KIND COMMENTS. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and loved the house. Please come back soon!

Paradise at the Lighthouse
What an amazing stay we had! A lovely Leap Day getaway with my girlfriends was full of tide-pooling, hot-tubbing, cooking and relaxation. The location of the Lighthouse really can't be beat, and the view and hot tub were everything we wanted and more. We hope to be back soon!!
This vacation was just what we needed. We spent most of our time on the deck gazing either at the wildlife during the day, or the stars at night. When we weren’t at the house we were wading in tide pools, fishing, biking and playing (all within walking distance!). So many memories were made, thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a tranquil, well- stocked homey house.
Shawna, thank you so much for your kind comments. We love it when a family can have so much fun at Sea Ranch and enjoy our house. Sea Ranch is a wonderful place for memories and we are glad to have shared our "Lighthouse" with your family. Please come back again soon.

Loved every moment!
This was an ideal place to stay for a small family. It was cozy and clean and the views were amazing. My kids loved the loft area to have for themselves. I will be back for sure!
Our kids always enjoyed the loft also. When you return maybe your kids will discover some of the places where my children built forts among the trees. Glad you had a good time.
From the house you are a short walk to the bluff trail West to the Ocean and East to Monarch Glen, the resting place for Monarch Butterflies as they fly to warmer weather South. There is a trail guide to Monarch Glen in the Lighthouse.
Across Hwy 1 and over the mountain you will be on the road to "The Hot Spot".
The Hot Spot is where you will see giant redwoods and follow a trail along the Gualala river where Jack London used to fish. On your way down the one-way road you can see remnants of railroad tracks where redwood was hosted up and over the mountain to be loaded onto the ships in the Pacific ocean below.
South of the house on Hwy 1 take the Annapolis Road turnoff to the Annapolis Winery.
Fort Ross is about 25 miles south of the lodge. It is the furthest Russian settlement in America and is an interesting visit.
Point Arena to the North has a fishing pier; restaurant and a few stores. On your way you will pass through Anchor Bay where there is a very good Thai Restaurant (believe it or not).
Continuing North to Fort Bragg you have options for deep sea fishing; large grocery stores and fine sea food restaurants. About 25 miles from Sea Ranch.
