a few steps to the bustling rue Cler Market yet on a calm, beautiful, 'typically Parisian' street! So much within a 5 minute walk ... most of central Paris is a pleasant walk from this safe, chic, convivial neighborhood.
We are remodeling now so all pics here are old (sorry). The description is correct but it will be even better than these pics. Please visit our website (see link below but no new pics yet) for lots more info and photos!
'Charming,' 'Perfect,' 'Comfortable,' 'Wonderful' are common comments from our new and returning guests (we can share emails). Our 2 bedroom apartment is located in one of Paris’ most desirable neighborhoods – on the Left Bank in the heart of the safest neighborhood, the 7th Arrondisement. Here, within a few blocks of the Eiffel Tower and the huge gilded dome of Invalides, you will discover the “vrai” (real) Paris.
We completely renovated our apartment ending in Apr 2017 and are always adding fresh touches that blend the best of old and new in our exceptionally well laid out 85 sq. meters (approx 950 sq feet).
It is in a superbly maintained Art Deco building. The charming furnishings are mostly in the Art Nouveau/Art Deco styles and were chosen for their comfort too.
Situated on the 2nd floor American (1st floor French), there is a wooden Deco elevator for easy access. There are only two apartments per floor, so the apartment is quiet and private.
You'll find a brand new kitchen, updated/new bathrooms, top quality appliances & furniture and all of the windows are double paned, so it is incredibly quiet from outside noise!
Furnished with a mix of modern and antique furnishings, the apartment evoques the Art Deco / Art Nouveau periods. The 4 principal rooms:
* 'designer' living room with large windows on a charming street
* 2 large bedrooms with windows on the private courtyard
* spacious dining room with 3 large windows on the street
In addition, there is a modern, separate and very well equipped Kitchen; a large dramatic entry hall; a long hallway to the private bedrooms area; a modern full bathroom and a separate modern half bath that is ensuite.
Sleeping arrangements: The apartment sleeps up to 4 guests very comfortably and is comfortable to feed/entertain much larger groups.
* At the end of a long and pretty bedroom hallway you find the largest bedroom with a king size bed (this can also be made up as 2 twin beds), a fireplace, lots of closets, a big bureau, large Art Nouveau mirror, and two small Art Deco arm chairs.
* The second large bedroom, at the other end of the hallway, has a queen size bed, a big closet, a charming desk, a large bureau, a big provencal mirror, a comfy reading alcove and a lovely 1/2 bathroom (toilet and small sink)
* The large bathroom with shower-over-bathtub, large sink/vanity and another toilet, is between the two bedrooms and accessible from the hallway
In addition to sleeping 4, the apartment is very comfortable to live in ... i.e. relax, eat, cook, entertain ... to really “live” in Paris. Located in an elegant and fun neighborhood, you will find it unusually friendly (for Paris) with lots to do for all ages (very near to parks, transportation, cafes, museums, and friendly merchants).
The living room is newly furnished with a large L-shape couch and new comfortable armchairs. There is a large bookcase with a big screen cable tv.
The dining room has a table for 6 that expands as needed. There are also two comfortable armchairs in the windows and a beautiful fireplace.
The best of everything is literally at your doorstep! We maintain a list for you of the neighborhood's:
- charming shops to browse,
- wonderful and varied small restaurants & cafes (several are 'cuisine guide' listed - others are less advertised but also wonderful),
- world famous museums (including the D'Orsay, Rodin, huge new Branley and several smaller 'less known' ones),
- architecturally beautiful streets that invite you to wander,
- among the most famous street markets in all of Paris (and certainly among the best!) – rue Cler - is just around the corner and open 6 days a week! Several other good markets are a quick walk, should you want to compare and explore smaller/lesser known ones.
A short walk will take you along wonderful paths to Invalides and Napoleon’s tomb; the Eiffel Tower with it’s day and night spectacles; the Champs de Mars’ wonderful gardens, playground and 'Guignol' (marionettes); the Museums like the Rodin, D'Orday, Branly and others; the wonderful Quais along the Seine and over one of the bridges to the right bank and to the Champs Elysees (it is quite close too!); and so much more.
For times when you want to travel further, the Metro station Latour Mauborg is a short walk from the apartment (Ecole Militaire also very close). There are also several bus lines that stop right at the corners for those who are curious to travel Paris 'above ground'.
Location: Although surrounded by busy streets with lots to see and do, the apartment is located in a smaller building on a calm street – rue Duvivier. The cross streets are rue de Grenelle and rue du Champs de Mars – just parallel to the best market block of rue Cler. We hope to see you there soon!

We love Paris. We met and commited our lives together when living in Paris, so in our hearts it remains our home. It was always our dream to own an apartment in Paris - specifically in this part of the 7th. This is a large enough apartment to really live in and be comfortable. We spend most of the year here and when we are not there, we love to share our residence with people who can appreciate the place and surroundings.

We know Paris better than most Parisians and bought our place here (le Gros Caillou) because it is in the perfect location and is comfortably laid out. It is right in the middle of everything that people (visitors as well as Parisians) want to do, yet it is in a smaller building and on a quiet charming street! This is perhaps the most charming and authentic neighborhood in Paris but also family friendly (unusual) and you'll find it quite chic. Within just a few blocks you will find many 'treasures' but metro and bus routes are close-by should you wish to venture farther than on foot.
The neighborhood is wonderful, chic, friendly and has lots of things to do within a 5 minute walk. We truly enjoy sharing our place with other travelers (we share our knowledge too) and have met some wonderful friends in this way.

And of course there are some of the best restaurants in the world ... including several top Michelin rated ones nearby, but if you know the 'bon adresses' not all of them are so expensive!
The location is one of the most perfect in Paris. The apartment is well described on our site - it is newly remodeled (2017) and VERY well equipped because it is more than just "another vacation rental", it is our home and we love to cook and entertain. Our work necessitates that we are in the US for a good part of the year, so we "share" our place with guests, many of whom return repeatedly and have become friends. Because of the way we use and share our place, it is very comfy and better equipped than most holiday rentals. As for the location, aside from the above info, it is well known that this is the safest neighborhood in Paris ... even for children, teens and women alone. Here are some other benefits that your group might enjoy:
If you are a group of adults - there are incredible shops of all kinds, great restaurants (not all so expensive either but some are Michelin rated), cafes and clubs, museums and so much to do.
If you are with children - the area is kid-friendly and there are 3 large parks within a few minutes walk (one even has a marionette theater building/shows + simple rides and is just under the Eiffel Tower!)
If you don't enjoy or are unable to walk very far - everything that you need for an amazing experience is quite literally a few steps away (including, deservedly, one of the most famous street markets in France - rue Cler), there is an elevator, and/or we are located between 2 Metro stops (2-3 blocks) plus the bus is at the corner. Sometimes we don't even leave our quartier for a week+
If you travel alone - this is a friendly neighborhood (contrary to many areas reputation) and you will easily meet people in our local cafes, shops, restaurants who really enjoy chatting - you will not be lonely.

This beautiful apartment is absolutely perfect for a lovely stay in Paris! Just a block over from the fabulous bakeries, bistros, shops, markets and restaurants on Rue Cler. Easy walking distance to the Tour de Eiffel, Museums, and metro. We shared the flat with another couple and the space was hugely comfortable. The manager that met us was gracious and so very helpful. Cannot say enough good things about this experience. Will hope to stay there again!!!
I stayed at this flat for two weeks in January and it is exactly as the owner stated. The apartment is very charming and is within walking distance to Rue Cler, La Tour Eiffel, Invalides and my most favorite Pont Alexandre III which connects to the Champs Elysees. The metro is very close where one can easily get to other parts of the city. The photos are spot on so there are no hidden surprises. It was very clean when we arrived and we had no issues. The owner was very helpful in answering all of our questions and even suggested places of interest. I've already mentioned this place to friends and plan on staying there again in the future. Samo Korean restaurant down the street from the apartment is one of the best Korean restaurants in the city and is highly recommended as well as the cafes on Rue Cler. Boulangerie Patisserie De La Tour Eiffel on Rue De La Bourdonnais has a great view of the Eiffel Tower and the food is very good. This was a great experience to visit Paris in the Winter and I would do it again in this apartment in a heart beat.
Monuments, Parks, Puppet Shows, Open Air Markets, Museums and so much more ... the best of everything Paris has to offer is at your doorstep or a short walk away!

My Standard Rate
5 night minimum stay
Because we are not a hotel with a staff, we charge just a bit more for shorter stays (they cost us the same).
$2,660 for a 7 night stay, which is prorated at $380 for each additional night past 7.
$2,325 for a 6 night stay.
$2,000 for a 5 night stay (minimum rate).
We offer a -20% discount for stays of 3 weeks and -25% for monthly stays.
We prefer credit card payments on our secure server but checks are fine with us when sent by express mail.
All rates are subject to change until a rental agreement is signed and a deposit received.
