This lovely new condo is located in Port of the Islands at the entrance to the Ten Thousand Islands in the Gulf of Mexico. You are near all the natural beauty of the Everglades yet close to the charm and sophistication of Naples and Marco Island. Port of the Islands is considered a boating and fishing paradise situated in an unspoiled natural habitat bordering state and federal preservation lands. Sophisticated living is available in Naples where the Philharmonic performs on a regular basis along with other venues of art and entertainment. Restaurants and shopping abound along 5th and 3rd Avenues where old and new Florida come together and provide access to miles of beautiful public beach. It is truly captivating and a place to visit and revisit many times.

Location: This condo is in Port of the Islands which is located equidistant from Naples, Marco Island, and Everglades City on Florida route 41 (otherwise known as the Tamiami Trail). It has a Naples mailing address and is listed as part of the east Naples postal zone. Convenience store grocery items, wine, etc. are available at the local marina ship's store which is within walking distance of the condo. General shopping is available in Marco Island or Naples proper which are both about 12 miles from the condo. A public golf course is situated about 7 miles from the condo along the drive to Naples. About 2 miles away, across route 41 (which runs past the condo development) is the Port of the Islands Gun Club where competition and recreational skeet and trap shooting is available 4 days each week. Several public golf courses are within a short drive from the condo along route 41 and in Naples proper.

Attractions: For the ladies there are a variety of local social groups that readily accept newcomers. These consist of the book club, bridge club, ballet group, sea wall picnic group, margong group, and others. Many of these type activities meet at the resort commons room or within individual homes. Opportunities exist for volunteer social work in Naples, Everglades City. or Marco Island. Shopping of all types is readily available in these same centers.

Recreational Fishing & Boating: The Port of the Islands Resort and Marina are also within easy walking distance from the condo. The resort provides a work-out facility and gorgeous swimming pool surrounded by palm trees with access to the bar and restaurant On the bay as part of the resort is a full service marina where boat slips can be rented and a complete selection of fishing supplies may be obtained. Direct access to the thousand islands and the Gulf of Mexico is featured as part of this salt-water estuary system. Fresh water bass fishing is also available in the various lakes and canals throughout the area.

nice place -faraway from everything for our taste

a beautiful well equipped condo in an area away from everything. Its about 16 miles from Naples, so you have to drive to do anything. if you are going to relax this is the place for you. the photograph shows a swimming pool but DOES NOT STATE YOU HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL FEE TO USE IT!!!!!! it is also not on the property. If you are a family with children there is also only 1 TV which may cause problems. the neighbors were very friendly. We called the owner the day we checked out and still have not received a call back. The literature was very outdated (2007-2010) It would have been nice to have a welcome letter and maybe mention churches etc. in the area. also very disappointed we had to check out early on 2/28 and not 3/1.

Owner's Response: Trish and Tom, I am pleased that you found our condo to be well equipped and beautiful and the neighbors friendly. We work hard to keep it that way. Our Home Away listing clearly states that it is 15 miles to Naples, 13 miles to Marco Island and 13 miles to Everglade City. We are in the middle of a triangle bracketing all three of these beautiful and exotic urban areas. Port of the Islands is meant to be away from everything. That is usually the reason people go there. Necessities and convenience groceries are available at the Marina Ships Store. A full service restaurant is available at the Port of the Islands Everglades Resort that is next door to the condo complex. The pool is also part of that resort. They provide access to their tennis courts, gymnasium, game room, and pool for a nominal charge of $75/month per family. A modest fee to say the least. In regard to your checkout day, it was clearly stated in the rental contract, which you signed months before arrival that the rental period extended from check-in on the first day of the month and check-out on the last day of the month. I am therefore surprised at your complaint about an “early” check-out date. You are right about the television. There is only one. It is a flat panel display in the living room. We plan to install a second one in the bedroom/office for the coming season. Thank you for renting with us. We appreciate it.

Our apartment was, spacious, clean, and well appointed. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, but only 15 min. To Marco and 20 min. to Naples. The pool was lovely, and we spent most afternoons there. Great airboat ride just north on 41, and wonderful restaurant (Triad's) just south on 41. Great time!

This was an excellent condo in a great location. It was only about 15 minutes to shopping areas, great restaurants and interesting natural history areas to explore. The owners paid close attention to detail to make our stay very enjoyable. Everything we needed was provided. The place was clean and well maintained. There was an abundance of literature about the local area to help us plan our stay. Internet and local phone services were available and a pool and other recreational facilities wre available at the resort close by.

This is a winter paradise for sportsman and nature lovers of all type. The tastefully furnished 3 bedroom and 3 bath condo overlooks a large canal that is part of a river system leading out to the Gulf. It is home to manatee, osprey, heron, egrets, and saltwater fish of all type. The back country islands provide a wide range of fishing experiences that include redfish, drum, permit, and the occasional small black tip. Everglades National Park extends out to some of these islands providing access to miles of mangroves, rookeries, and sandy beaches for picnicking . The Port of the Islands Resort and Marina is a short walk from the condo and provides a palm-studded pool, work out center, restaurant, and bar. The marina (owned and operated by Collier county) is next to the resort and is a full service facility with boat rental, boat slips, fishing supplies, guide service, and water eco-tours. There are several public golf courses in the immediate vicinity of the condo
