Two story townhouse on the beach! No high rise buildings on either side of complex. West side is an empty lot, then a small development and then another empty lot! Why are we telling you this? Because we hate crowded beaches. We looked up and down the beach for QUIET, low density, relatively un-crowded beaches. WE FOUND IT HERE! No beach service with lines of chairs and umbrellas to wade through.....and either sit behind the line, or sit in front of someone else. We furnish your chairs and umbrellas FREE. Also included is use of a BBQ Grill with chairs and a table in your own private area...NO SHARED GRILLS HERE.

Gulfside Townhomes are approximately 1150 sq. feet of living area, two bedrooms and two and one half baths. We have two balconies, one off the living area, the other off the master bedroom. Enjoy drinks and dinner on your private balcony. Enjoy the use of wireless internet, even on the balconies. Three TV's all with DVD players, one in each bedroom. About Jim Elder

I live in Opelousas, La and I am the Executive VP of Gaiennie Lumber Industrial Products Division. I have been there since 1977. Point of me telling you this is that I am a long term focused person. I run the rentals of our beautiful townhome the same way. We are focused on long term satisfaction. Half of our renters are repeat clients because they know they can depend on me to be accessible 24/7 and willing to answer any questions or service problems that may occur. We don't have many but just in case IF we do we have a full service staff on the ground in Gulf Shores to respond. We've never had to use it before but we contract with a AC repair company that handles and responds to service calls 24 hours a day. We keep our place clean and neat and now we are upgrading the tech end. We have placed Hi Def TV's with Blue Ray DVD's in two rooms and a DVR on the TV in the living area. By Spring we will be switching to our own WIFI network instead of the complex network so that our smart tv will be able to stream any of your subscription content from home! We will be adding a significant amount of photo's in the spring (rented till then), showing off the complete set of new furniture for the living area. My commitment is to run the best overall rental unit in the complex. I live my commitments and would welcome a phone call from you with any and all questions you may have.

Why Jim Elder chose Alabama

We wanted something similiar to a beach home but with swimming pool and courtyard in addition to the sand beach. We found it here. Each year families come down and rent multiple units for family reunions. We are family oriented so you aren't going to have to contend with a bunch of drunks running around the complex or around the pool. We have security to handle that sort of thing and Gulfside Townhomes doesn't rent to under 25 unless accompanied by a responsible adult. Before we purchased our unit we rented at several other larger (and pricier) units and on each occasion witnessed either alcohol influenced family altercations or alcohol and testosterone induced brawls. In one beautiful complex we vacationed at our neighbors were a group of young college students with the 'boom box' from hell! They allowed them to run this thing full tilt till 10pm while they smoked and drank beer on the balcony and tossed their cigarette butts in the swimming pool below. We paid $2700.00 for a week at this new high rise tower and had the vacation from hell. We have never had to contend with this at Gulfside. Most folks give the kids the freedom to move about not having to worry about disturbances.

What makes this townhome unique

Large pool! We have only 40 units, but our pool is larger and nicer than complexes with 90 or more units. We have a private place to grill, and furnish a nice private grilll with chairs and a table. Walk out of the door down the steps to the vehicle, grill patio, the beach, or the pool. (It's nice to get into a vehicle without having to wait 30 minutes for it to cool below 110 degrees (100% covered parking). We have 2 1/2 baths for convenience. and ocean views from every room! I could go on and on, overall let me just say that we offer the BEST VALUE ON THE BEACH!

We had a great time. The unit was ultra clean, everything worked. (You do have a broken door shelf in the fridge, but you told me you had a replacement coming). The beach was lovely till the last two days when some tar balls started coming in. We loved having the use of the umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards and the inner tube! We will definitely return. Your custodian here was very nice to us also. Oh....the pool is awesome and BIG!

Great vacation!

We had a great time. The townhouse has more than enough room for a family. It was our first time not to stay in a high rise. This was so much easier with parking underneath and no elevator to wait for. We highly recommend!!

The beds were very uncomfortable and made noise when you moved, didn't get a good night sleep!

The place had an Oder when we got there. we opened the doors for hours. The carpets were very dirty and old. The beds were the worst and I'm not kidding the worst bed I have ever slept on. We went out and got new pillows so we could sleep better. The twin beds made noise when you rolled over. This place needs new beds and much more updating! Just my honest opinion!

Owner's Response: We are sorry this guest had problems. I wish they had called and we would have sent the custodian and owner of the cleaning service we use. She would have responded immediately and if indeed there was an odor, or carpet not cleaned, she would have responded immediately! At no time were we notified and the first we hear of it is in this review. 1. The carpet is not old and was installed 2 years ago. It is not cheap carpet. 2. We update often and to the standards of the complex and rate structure. ' 3. We purchased the beds 2 years agp and they are the same as installed at the new Phoenix. Condos in Orange Beach. That being said, I will be down in two weeks and plan to sleep on each of them and if I hear creaking or noice I will replace them. Carpet cleaning (here we are referring to professional steam cleaning) is done twice a year in March and August. We update regularly to the standards of our complex and the rates that prevail.We strive to provide clean, attractive, well maintained acommodations. We rent every night from January to November 1 every year as a result. of these efforts. I intend to take every step possible to verify these complaints and remedy them immediately. I wouldn't want a bed that made noise either!

superb location, easy beach access.

Furnishings were a little old, bed, not the greatest, too many remote controls, took 2 days to turn on tv. Asked for another door key, did not get. Internet (wifi) unbelievably bad. Had to sign in every couple of hours. We really rely on the internet for communications. Carpets needed cleaning. One spot looked like a

cigarette burn.

With all of that being said, we would still consider returning next year if a few

upgrades were made like some of the other units.

We really enjoyed our stay at the beach and we will be coming back next year at the same time. If you keep us informed of any upgrades you do to the property, we will consider booking again.

Great Location

We loved this townhouse! The beach access is great and love just being literally steps away. The complex is small but offers a fabulous spacious pool. Nicely decorated and accommodated our family of 5 very well. Appreciated the private access to beach chairs, toys and umbrellas to enjoy at the beach which not everyone provides or shares. Would definitely recommend this townhome to any family looking for a great beach vacation.

Check in is 3pm but you are welcome to come earlier. The maid will probably be working if you come before 1pm but you can get your parking pass and park in the lot and change into beach mode and go enjoy the beach and pool while they are finishing. Its yours as soon as they finish and sometimes thats as early as noon. They will be happy to let you know.

Check out is 10 am sharp. Remember as anxious as you were to get in as early as possible this can only happen for others if people check out on time.
