About this property

Le Gîte de la Chouette

Lovely traditional 19th century character farmhouse, carefully restored, nestled in the countryside on the edge of meadows, in the hollow of a vast open clearing, on the edge of a large forest. In a peaceful residential hamlet located 4 km from the center of Cuiseaux, the "city of painters", birthplace of Édouard Vuillard & Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, world-famous artists, nestled in the wooded foothills of the Jura massif, in hollow of a sublime preserved landscaped setting of gentle mountains. Steeped in charm, with many amenities and quality sports and cultural infrastructure, this picturesque medieval shopping village steeped in history (former border town) has a rich heritage (orchard gate, ramparts, castle of the princes of Orange, church, chapel, bourgeois houses and mansions from the 16th century, old winegrowers' houses, etc.). Very comfortable gîte with atypical interior architecture. Ultra spacious. Vast living room. Warm contemporary country character mixing traditions & modernity in the spirit of a gentle "family house" with rich traces of the past (stone walls, bricks, fireplace mantel, beams, stone lintels... of origin). Very complete quality equipment. Pleasant natural property of 3 ha including a large lawned garden (perfect playground for children) and a large courtyard (natural pétanque court) with a large exposed terrace area. Composition: Detached house on one level. Wireless. Oil central heating + fireplace. Living room-kitchen, TV lounge (Home cinema), 3 bedrooms (double bed 160x200cm + raised single bed 80x190cm / 2 single pull-out beds 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm), 2 shower rooms ( shower) including 1 with Wc, separate Wc. Note: 2 bedrooms accessible by the shower rooms or by the garage for one (independent exterior access). Land (3 ha) + terrace + bike room + garage (1 space) + private parking. Amenities 4 km. Delightful traditional 19th century farmhouse fully restored & revisited as a comfortable holiday resort - on a vast natural property of 3 ha - nestled in the countryside between Bresse louhannaise and Revermont 5 km from the A39 (exit n°9), 4 km from the center of Cuiseaux (charming "city of painters" & medieval commercial town with many amenities including a rich level of leisure facilities) & 17 km from Louhans, capital of Bresse, famous for its iconic medieval thoroughfare with 157 arcades (one of the most remarkable of its type in France and in Europe) as well as for its very famous "Monday market" labeled "Remarkable site of taste". Peaceful residential hamlet nestled on the edge of meadows & forest, very close to the first wooded foothills of the Jura massif, superb preserved natural setting of gentle mountains (strewn with numerous mountain bike and pedestrian paths marked out in "green walks", connected to the mythical GRP of the "Grande Traversée du Jura" & the GR59), 6 km from the first vineyards of the Jura (& the wine route) and 17 km from the greenway & a 35 km cycle route referenced "loop bike coup de heart ". Pleasant, restful setting nestled in the heart of a superb landscaped setting alternating between bocage plains dotted with ponds & rivers and vast forest massifs, at the very southern tip of Bresse Bourguignonne (cradle of the world-renowned Bresse poultry AOC rich in a remarkable historical heritage). Prime location at the crossroads of the Jura massif & Bresse de l'Ain (and the respective departments), not far from the Mâconnais & the Tournugeois-Clunisois (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") as well as the vineyards of Southern Burgundy with worldwide reputations (various wine routes to explore). Ideal for touring around (A39 5 km away): 5 km from the famous Bresse racing circuit (car, motorbike and karting multi-activities over 48 ha), 28 km from Lons-le-Saunier, 35 km from Cuisery referenced among the very exclusive 8 French Book Villages, 41 km from Bourg-en-Bresse & 45 km from Tournus (world-renowned abbey site). Ideal for a relaxing "countrybreak" with the family!

Tres bon gite.
