Guestbook comments from the owner

We returned today from the US and we can say that the stay at Highdesert Homestead was our absolute highlight. Accommodation, view, and calm ambience with the surrounding nature were fantastic. We immediately felt at home and were so sad as we had to leave too early.

Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

Beautiful views!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days while we attended Coachella. The drive was a bit lengthy but overall we really enjoyed the house. It was very peaceful and quiet. The only problem we had was the main bathroom sink leaking. We were unable to use it our entire trip but made do with the other two sinks. Edward kept in contact and let us know he was working on getting a plumber out during our stay, but he was unable to find someone. Nonetheless, we just avoided using that sink, but still used the shower, as it was the only one. The house was very nice and had a beautiful side porch where we enjoyed breakfast every morning overlooking the mountains. This would be perfect for a weekend get away. I would definitely recommend.

Peaceful retreat in the desert! Quiet, nature, stars - lovely.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week in the desert - the peace and quiet, watching rabbits and birds and coyotes from the deck in the morning and afternoon, listening to owls at night while watching stars. The homestead was a great base camp for visiting the park and slowing down to the rhythm of the desert. We’ll be back!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Edmund's place was super comfortable. The location was perfect for us. It's a little hard to find at night so make but that's the nature of the desert. Would stay here again. Great location for going into the park and close to town.

A Peaceful retreat in a truely amazing place

  • 5 of 5

We chose High Desert Homestead as a two night stop off on a road trip. This leg was between Palm Springs and Grand Canyon. We have friends who have stayed at the property on more than one occasion. We were not disappointed by this truly amazing spot, a couple of miles away from the little town of Joshua Tree. The homestead had what we would expect from a modern property rental, but with the added benefit of its perfect location. We saw many wild animal and birds around the property, especially in the early morning. We hope to go back in the future and enjoy a longer stay. The rental procedure was also easy and professional.

Comfortable stay close to park

  • 4 of 5

The home is in perfect location a few minutes by car from Joshua town which had good restaurants. Very comfortable, tastefully furnished, and perfect size for our group of 4. Owner was prompt in communication throughout the process.
