Tahoe Mountain Lodge is a 3,700 square foot log cabin located on Tahoe Mountain in the Angora Highlands neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. It sits close to the summit on the western side of the mountain, on the slope facing down towards Fallen Leaf Lake with a beautiful view of Mt Tallac. This is one of the highest located houses in the neighborhood and catches the last rays of the sun as it sets behind Mt Tallac in the evening.

The house backs up to miles of forest service land on the east and north, and there’s a hiking and biking trail leading to the top of Tahoe Mountain that starts right next to the house.

The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a large living area, a game room with pool table, and a huge dining room with dining table for 12. Two of the bedrooms have one King size and two spilt King (TwinXL beds) each (bunks), and the other two bedrooms have one King size and one split King (TwinXL) bed each for a total of 10 beds that sleep 14 people. The photos of the last two bedrooms are not yet up to date and do not show the additional split Kings.

Rental information: This is a non-smoking property and we do not accept pets. We are not able to host events such as weddings at the house. House parties are not allowed, maximum occupancy is 14 people, day or night. You must be 28 years or older to rent this home.

Before sending any inquiry about pricing and availability, please review the pricing section and my online calendar. They are accurate and up to date.

Nice house and surrounding area.

Very hot week in Tahoe. Window fans or a swamp cooler would have made sleeping much more comfortable.

Enjoyed hiking and Fallen Leaf Lake.

Pictures don't do it justice. Perfect for lots of people-family or people sharing cost/lotsof space

Many breakout spaces for eating or just getting together, perfect for large gatherings where people also want their own space. Great kitchen space, hot tub, owner readily available for all our questions to him.

Spacious Mountain Lodge

  • 4 of 5

Our men's group of 7 seniors had a terrific time at Johan's mountain lodge. Plenty of beds for all in huge rooms, an extremely well outfitted kitchen and dining room, a popular pool table, and an overall great location for local hiking around Fallen Leaf Lake. And the view of all of Lake Tahoe after a hike of just a few hundred feet above the house is spectacular. We had some minor issues figuring out the home entertainment system and some of the new lighting systems and with Johan's help, they were fine.

Very clean, spacious, three story lodge with all the amenities!

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary at the lodge with a group of very good friends. The neiborhood was very quiet. Everyone was pleased with the bedrooms and all the amenities. We did have a few issues with a few things, but they were minor. The owner was available to help work out a problem. Loved the pool table area, and the seating area in living room. Very nice dining room and table. Enjoyed the hot tub "water was not clean :(" but we still enjoyed using it after skiing. Not much room for parking if staying in the winter due to snow. Overall we loved the lodge and would love to go back again. Highly recommend this lodge to get away and enjoy life!

This house was very easy to get to from the mountain, and very easy to enter (didn't have to meet the owner). Beds we comfortable, lots of plates and silverware for all our guests. Would love to rent it again.

Exactly as adverstised, great vacation home. Fair value.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed Dec. 26 2011 -Jan.2 2012. The listing description is accurate, the photos reflected the rental's appearance spot-on and the property is obviously well-maintained. The location is quiet, and off the beaten path yet it allows ready access to both South Lake Tahoe and the more west/north lake attractions (emerald bay, homewood, Tahoe City areas etc.). We went skiing at Heavenly 4 times during our week and it was only a 15 minute drive with traffic. House's electronics like TV-Stereo are state of the art, pool table is a very nice touch. Kitchen is great set-up for larger groups with multiple cooks -- appliances etc. are all more than aqequate though seem to be getting a bit on the tired side in some cases when compared to the A+ rest of the house - same story on bathrooms. Extremely nice beds and bedroom set-up, great for two+ families. The security deposit is a bit high when compared to other rentals and was a little bit of a worry for me at time of rental, but it was fully returned in a timely manner and I thought the explanation for having a larger security deposit (prevent careless renters & large party groups) was reasonable.

Bottom line - great rental, as advertised, nothing to worry about from the renter perspective, you'll have a great time.

The house is located in the Angora Highlands neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe which is located between Angora Ridge, Fallen Leaf Lake and Tahoe Mountain. This neigborhood was not impacted by the Angora Fire in 2008. The house is walking distance to Angora Ridge Road which offers some spectacular views of Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake and Mt Tallac, as well as down Christmas Valley. You can also walk up to the summit of Tahoe Mountain from the house, whcih offers views of entire Lake Tahoe. It is also close to Camp Richardson and Kiva beach. Angora Highlands is one of the premier neighborhoods in South Lake Tahoe with large lots and some spectacular houses with a good amount of permanent residents. The neighborhood is surrounded by National Forest Service land, and our house has the National Forest neigboring to both the North and East, no neighbors there.
