About this property

Rock Hall on the water

*New 2023*
- Refinished ground level (two doubles with en suite full bath)
- Full house HVAC (AC and Heat)

Built in 1804 this beautiful home sits on the edge of Little Wicomico river. Having its own private dock and just steps from Smith Point Marina our home is great for boaters. We also provide two kayaks (and lifejackets). As children, we used to swim off the dock or tie on a raft and drift until dinner. Fishing and crabbing is welcomed! There are a few public beaches nearby if the dock life isn't for you- "Neals Beach" being 2.5 miles down the road, "Vir-Mar Beach" and "Ginny Beach" both across the Little Wicomico River and roughly 20 minutes by car.

Come relax and enjoy the sounds and views of the water.

Rock Hall is a gorgeous Center Hall Greek Revival home. This amazing home has incredible history and has been lovingly restored, mixing it's history with all the modern comforts. The kitchen steps out onto the back porch allowing you an amazing breakfast view to the water, the large living room welcomes the whole family, pups included! We have installed Cable and high speed satellite internet (being so remote, this is our only option). The three TV's are "smart" allowing you to log into your own subscriptions if you please, these are located in living room and the two bedrooms on the second floor (Master and double Queen rooms). The ground level has been refunished and hosts two double beds with a full bathroom. The third floor has two cleared rooms, allowing for blow up mattresses, etc if you so please.

Reedville is a small town with a few restaurants and ice cream parlors scattered about. Kilmarnock is roughly a 20 minute drive and has everything else you could ask for.

Neat house but...
We were scouting this house as a potential place to bring friends, and while we really liked the house there are a few things we noticed that might make us hesitant to bring a larger group. The ground floor was badly in need of vacuuming and there was hair in the shower drain. We never could connect to internet and had no cell service so couldn't even let anyone know. Finally, the water has a highly sulfur odor. Overall it seemed no-one had been in the house in a while and it needed some more attention before renting.

Beautiful Rock Hall
Beautiful house and beautiful location. Unbelievable historic charm! Great property/grounds. We loved the walk down to the Little Wicomico Pier could use a little maintenance-deckboards and secure ladder. Bath towels had stains. Some minor maintenance needs around the house-light bulbs, loose hinges, exterior door handle loose. Restaurants in the area seem to be a little hit or miss....only recommendations from our stay would be pizza from The Dairy Barn in Burgess & breakfast from Fawn's Delectable Cafe in Reedville Still enjoyed the stay and would stay again. 100% would recommend without hesitation

Great Getaway on Gorgeous Property
Had a wonderful time playing games on the lawn, fishing at the dock, and playing poker in the kitchen. Saw a bald eagle, hawks, and a family of pheasants hanging out with a deer!

Lovely Historic Home
The architecture and historic feel of the home was amazing. As noted by others, the top floor bedrooms were exceptionally hot, and the lack of a bathroom on that floor was inconvenient. The basement level has been finished nicely with a lovely bathroom but there was no furniture on that level and therefore the rooms were unusable. It would have been better to be able to use those rooms for sleeping vs. the top level. The second floor bathrooms have been nicely renovated. It's a walk to the river, but once there, we found the dock was delightful, and the onsite kayaks were great! We had a great afternoon and saw only one jellyfish as compared to others who posted. An upgrade to more comfortable furniture in the living room would make for more inviting family gatherings. All in all, we had a great stay!
