This was a clean and practical apartment. It suited our needs. We were able to cook simple meals in the kitchen. The decor was a little shabby in places, but that didn't bother us. The lift to get to the 7th floor was small and slow at times. Overall we were very impressed with the accommodation and would happily stay again. Thank you.

Girona is wonderful

My wife and I spent 9 nights at Can Bici, riding everyday and enjoying Girona! This is a great spot for a DIY trip. We were able to cook most of our meals at the apartment, but it was easy to go out when we wanted. Great spot, and Marty was very helpful.

Very spacious and well eqipped apartment, in a quiet area within walking distance of the city centre. It was a pleasant surprise to see a well stocked grocery cupboard with the mesaage ' take something leave something'., very helpful if you are there for a while. We were only there for 2 nights so we did little cooking. There was also a good collection of guide books and maps.

Nice place for visiting Girona

Easy check in, exactly as explained, building is a little drab, but overlooks the city towards the station and the hillside toward old town. The apartment is clean, well-equipped and suited the purpose (not in Girona to stay in apt). Host was immediately responsive. 30 minute walk from center of historic neighborhood.

Spacious Apartment with everything you need

We had a pleasant stay at the apartment. Communication was very good and the check in was easy as well. Everything we needed was available and the apartment clean. The only downside that I can think off is that it is sometimes hard to find a parking spot, but actually that was true for all the apartments we had in the region.

convenient, good value & well-equipped apartment with plenty of space for a family of 4

had a great stay in Girona and doing day trips from here by public transport as it's only a 15 minute walk from the train/bus station & has a bus stop for service into old town outside the door, nice view out of 7th floor windows of greenery on hill beside apartment so feels like you're out of the city, very handy for family with 2 small kids who could have room each, they loved the swing in the bedroom, host was very responsive to queries, not a luxury apartment but has everything you need and good value

Good low-budget stay, but needs some updates

The apartment was conveniently situated for exploring Girona and the Costa Brava surroundings, but is located in an area that is somewhat run down.The flat itself was very clean, with a well-stocked kitchen, but requires some updates in the bathroom and with certain appliances.The communication with the host was good, and we ultimately still had an enjoyable stay.If you're looking for a no-frills low budget stay, thay is conveniently located within close walking distance to main tourist sights as well as cycling trails, then this is the place for you.

Thank you for your review - I agree that my apartment is a “Good low-budget stay” As much as I would like to see the “area” in Spain modernized and improved, it is out of my hands. I believe that the Mayor of Girona is and has been improving this ever more tourist attracting city. Perhaps the bathroom needs a remodel? If I remodel the bathroom, then the rental price will go up and will not be as budget-friendly. I strive to provide an impeccably clean apartment with all of the modern necessities.

Another great stay at Can Bici

This is my 2nd time to Girona and my 2nd stay at Marty's and it was the best. It's nice to go back to some familiarity. I always enjoyed the daily walks to town. I like his location both for sleep and cycling, the apt is always so pleasant, the other residents in the building are super friendly as well, no complaints. Marty is always available to contact and responds quickly if needed. As I said last,'ll be back! Thanks Marty!

Can Bici - Great Stay in Girona

Can Bici was perfect for our stay. Clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and well located in walking distance to Girona Old Town, train station, etc. We were always able to find on street parking within close walking distance. Could not ask for anyone nicer to work with than Jill (the Owner) who also gave us great tips on what to see and where to go. As a cyclist, Can Bici was incredibly well located and I took fabulous rides every day. Girona is a fabulous city with a wonderful combination of old and new. Close to the coast and a short train ride to Barcelona. Can't wait to go back.

Absolute terrible arrived at 2am met with damp cold dark property with no parking within 1 mile

We didnt stay more than 20 minutes and found alternative accommodation at 2.30am! VRBO been very unhelpful with this issue also have resorted to contacting my card provider for our refund as unfit for purpose!!!

Martyn, You rented my apartment and arrived at 2:00 am. You say that it was damp, cold and dark? Did you adjust the thermostat? If you left within 20 minutes, you must know that the boiler - radiator heat will take a bit of time to bring the apartment up to a suitable temperature? Free Parking can be challenging in Girona. Did you try the free parking on the opposite side of the river like I suggested? Girona had heavy rain for several days in a row before your arrival and is known to be a humid due to the confluence of 3 rivers. Let me know what VRBO says. As I understand, they want to retain their 'fees' ? Keep me posted about your steps. Although my refund policy is 'strict' I responded favorably and was/am willing to compensate you as discussed.

Every thing you need is here

Marty's apartment has everything you need for a short stay. While not the absolute most modern apartment, it is clean and he has went out of his way to make sure everything you might need is present. If you are staying because of a cycling trip, he even had a track pump and a load of useful tools to use. The clothes washer and dryer are also very useful. The kitchen is fully kitted out with cooker, fridge, dishwasher and cutlery. It even has a coffee machine. The only real downside is it's on the 7th floor so it would be a bit of a chore if the lift was out of service. Thankfully that didn't happen. The apartment location is also pretty good being only a short walk into the old town area and also the more modern part of the city. Even with this, it is quiet at night and we didn't have any issues sleeping. Marty himself Is always ready to answer any questions so I can't really say anything bad to be honest.

The apartment is roomy and would be good for 2 couples or a family. It was very clean. I appreciated the pantry items left from other guests and the extras in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the Wi-Fi is good. However the apartment is off the beaten path so you definitely need your walking shoes on! With all the sightseeing, the added walk back to the apartment is tiring. I did find the #6 bus which stops close to the apartment easy to take and helped cut down on some of the walking. The apartment and the building are old. The lift works which is good because the apartment is on the 7th floor. Be aware there is a set of stairs you go up to get to the lift so you must carry your suitcases up these stairs. The bathroom could do with some modernizing, especially the shower. And the door of the washing machine is broken and was difficult to use. It should be replaced. Overall, it was a pleasant enough stay for 3 nights in a quiet but older neighborhood.

El interior del apartamento estaba bien equipado, todo lo necesario para estar adecuadamente. Tuvimos un problema con la caldera afectando el primer día. Además no tuvimos internet durante los dos días. Es importante remarcar que la definición de apartamento en el corazón de Girona tiende a confundir. Está a las afueras, teniendo que andar 25 min para ir a la catedral por ejemplo.

We are walking distance from the center of Girona (15 min walk), yet from the master bedroom and living room the views are of a mountain side which gives the feel of being in the country. On occasion there are goats which will visit the hill which is a welcomed site.
