Pottawattamie Place - near Dunes, Beach, & Casino

To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you!

HOUSE PERKS:
--This rental includes a kitchen with a fridge/freezer, sink, stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, blender, & coffee maker. Essentials like plates, cups, cookware, utensils, & paper towel will be provided for your use.
--Along with coffee, creamer, and sweetener are provided.
--Cooking oil and salt/pepper are provided. Brands provided depend on what's in stock at local stores, so if you have specific brand/flavor preferences for these items, please feel free to bring your own. :)
--A hairdryer and showering essentials/bath towels are available. Each bedroom has a designated closet with hanger storage and a dresser for clothing. There is also an iron and ironing board.
--Small beach toys for kids and a large woven beach towel are provided for each guest.
-A foosball table is available in the basement.
--In the warmer months, there is a fire pit available for your use in the backyard. We provide the lighter; feel free to bring your firewood (or, you may purchase nearby from a local gas station, Meijer, Menards, or Lowe's).
--Guests can park in the driveway--There is enough room for up to 4 average-sized vehicles, or three very large vehicles (ex: Pickup truck.)
--A pull-out couch (queen size) is also available in the basement with a cabinet for clothing storage. (The basement is unfinished but very clean.)
**Please note that this home does NOT have a dishwasher.

TECHNOLOGY:
--A large, flat-screen television is hooked up in your living area, the basement, and in the queen bedroom, although we recommend the outdoors over the tube! ;) The TVs are smart TVs, so you're able to sign into your Netflix/Hulu account to stream.
--Wifi is provided -- at least 100Mbps
--A Smart Home Device is also in Pottawattamie Place with instructions on how to use it. The device can play music/white noise, find local attractions, check the weather, etc. Guests who do not want to utilize the device can simply turn it off.
--A washer/dryer is available for your use in the basement. (Free.)

ADDITIONAL INFO:
We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from:
--Users who are "verified" and who already have positive reviews from other hosts.
--Renters that are above the age of 25.
--Renters who are not bringing pets.
--A maximum of eight guests per reservation. Up to eight guests are allowed if two guests would like to utilize the pull-out couch in the basement. Note: The basement is unfinished but very clean (see photos).
We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. ***In order to keep the home in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules.*** We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

***As hosts, we have sustained damages to our properties in the past. Because we value our relationships with our neighbors and because we aim to keep the properties in top condition, we do require guests to have previous positive reviews from past trips. If you do not have previous positive reviews from past trips, we do require a fully refundable $500 damage deposit. The deposit is returned on your day check out when the cleaning team arrives and confirms the property is in good condition.***

***Note that there are train tracks down the street. Trains go by occasionally and you may hear the whistle. (Some guests have said they never heard it once while others heard it more often.) We've provided sound makers in each room for light sleepers.

***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the house is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) We also do NOT have a pack-and-play/portable crib, so guests will need to bring their own. Renters are solely responsible for all guests in their party.***

***Smoking is NOT allowed inside or around the property. If there is any evidence smoking occurred inside or within 50 feet of the property (smoke smell, ashes, paraphernalia, etc) there will be an additional $300 cleaning charge and/or loss of security deposit if one was collected.

***Our pet-friendly property has a $75 fee per pet (Should be added automatically once you select the option). We allow one small to medium-sized, potty-trained dog (no puppies).

Dog Rules:
-Dogs must be crated if left unattended and are not allowed on furniture. Service animals must stay with you at all times.
-Dogs must be leashed when outside.
-Please clean up after your pet indoors and outdoors.***

CHECK-IN INFO:
--Guests who book will receive detailed check-in instructions and a key code for entry on the morning of their scheduled arrival. All of this will be communicated through AirBnB messenger.
--Please note that Michigan City is on Central Standard Time (CST). Check-in is between 4 PM - 9 PM; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive.
--Our cancellation policy is moderate.
