Fantastic home with a great location!
Spent a week here in January 2018 for our annual guys ski trip with 5 of us. Layout was perfect with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and all the bedrooms have large beds, even the one bunk bed. Great ski in ski out access. The access trail is directly across the street. The garage even fit our Yukon XL so it was always snow free when needed. The owner made the rental process very easy. To date our group has gone to a different resort every year, but if we come back to Big Sky we will stay here again.
Thanks for your comments and I am glad you enjoyed stay.
Great Big Sky Get-Away
Our family of eight adults and one young toddler shared this home very comfortably for over a week. The home is well-appointed and the owners have taken great care to ensure that everything is working, welcoming, and warm. We cooked nearly all of our meals (because we wanted to spend as much time together as possible) and the kitchen lacked nothing. The beds were comfortable, the layout open and spacious, and the views are incredible. Deer and moose wandered freely through the area and we even saw a red fox.
We hiked, went fly-fishing in the Gallatin and the Madison, horseback riding at the 320 Guest Ranch, and took a couple of trips to Yellowstone. Big Sky is a little dead at this time of year, but that's just what we were looking for.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and I'd recommend this house to anybody traveling to the area.
Amazing house on the mountain at Big Sky
The house had all the amenities I've come to enjoy in a luxurious ski house. The bedroom and bathroom configuration was great for accommodating a multi-family get together with plenty of privacy. We came to ski and did just that. Even with small kids, it was a relatively easy ski down to the White Otter Lift and then a quick ski to the base. Skiing back is easy as well once you gather your bearings...the resort could do a better job of marking the trails back. I highly recommend this house and Big Sky in general.
Excellent Ski House
Our group of 3-1/2 couples couldn't have been much happier with the house. Great location for ski/board access (a little skating required both ways unless your wax is perfect). Highlights are comfortable furnishings, a nice, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of room, quiet but accessible location with nice views, decent entertainment systems, wireless net and a real fireplace. The garage is only single-car but we left the one car outside and used it for skis and staging. If it was storming one would want to park inside so the plow crew could do the driveway. We hardly used the car except for a couple of errands and a run to the Yellowstone Tour rendezvous. We spent four days on Big Sky and two on Moonlight (bought Moonlight tickets as Big Sky base and took one free lift ride to access Moonlight). Both are great resorts with lots of interesting terrain and short liftlines (except for the Peak Tram, which was typically 15-20 minutes). It's generally easy to get around on a good (not too many) system of catwalks. Facilities up on the mountain are a little skimpy on plumbing, but the huts are cozy and informal, and the food is good and reasonably priced.
The house could use a bigger foyer with more space for hanging outerwear and drying boots, as the garage is too cold for that. The ski rack in the garage is not great (great ones are exceedingly rare) but there's plenty of storage and closet space otherwise. We'd happily stay there again - the house and resorts are definitely in the top 10 of the 50-odd ski destinations we've visited.
Awesome, Relaxed mountain home
My family stayed in this gorgeous home in August, as it was our first time to Big Sky. What a great location, a 10 minute drive from the "downtown" Big Sky shopping and restaurants. The hot tub was a bonus. Plenty of space, rooms that offered privacy and own bathrooms, and a modern kitchen, living/dining room with a comfortable seating area. The outdoor, wrap around balcony provided a wonderful sitting area in the sun. Highly recommended!
Wonderful!
We have been visiting Big Sky since the early 90's and have stayed at Powder Ridge cabins the last 4 years. This year was definitely the best ever. Plenty of room, never crowded even with four generations of family. Great location and the beautiful cabin was well supplied with everything we needed for our stay. Perfect for large groups. Once the groceries were unloaded we only left the cabin to ski ( and sleigh ride, snowmobile, snowshoe, and zip line). It was great. Thanks owners!
