Why they chose this property
My grandfather had this cottage built and it is the cottage we have returned to for almost every summer since I was born.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is very peaceful and private, and yet it's well connected to the rest of Hancock Point with its library, tennis courts and wharf as well as the Crocker House Inn. There are woods for children to play in and space in the yard for croquet games. The cottage also has its own access to the shore, with a two-seater Adirondack chair just above the beach (with great views of the mountains of Acadia National Park) and then wooden stairs down to the beach. On the beach to the left, our family's main beach, there's a big rock that becomes an island or a ship when the tide is in, and there's also a reef full of tide pools with crabs, snails and starfish in them, so it's great fun for children. There is a sandy area great for sand building sand castles and cities. We love it.
