The House is at once spacious yet provides the intimacy of home with five bedrooms, each with their own bath, a living room and separate family room for gathering, a fabulous cook's kitchen and a dining room with seating to spare. Wander the village, eat fresh lobster at the dock, take a kayak and explore Muscongus Sound!

Lovely property on expansive yard with attractive furnishings. Well situated in a picturesque harbor town. Our large (10 people) family gathering fit easily. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor eating space.

Great et Away for a Large Group

Great location and large enough to accommodate 12 people. Gorgeous weather and parking enough for all 4 famlies!

Wonderful House Rental

We had a wonderful time and really appreciate all of the amenities that come along with the house. We felt right at home. It’s a wonderful place to host family and friends- lots of bedrooms to accommodate multiple families. We loved the candy, ice cream and coffee all walking distance from the house. We can’t wait to return!

Friends reunion

We all met about a year ago while staying in Round Pond and decided to repeat the experience. We had a great time! The house is so comfortable and well furnished, and we loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs while chatting. The location is perfect, with a short stroll to lobsters on the dock, and ice cream on the walk home!

Great home base for exploring & entertaining

This unique property was perfect for hosting a reunion of friends & family. Of note, the very copious dining and living spaces — well furnished and equipped — earned praise from every guest. Most bedrooms had their own A/C unit, and the others had fans; bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and building’s hot water kept up perfectly with everyone’s use. Unique additions like a vintage outdoor ice chest, attractive stemware, and full croquet set give the space a signature style. As a location, HVH is at the center of a walkable village with a modest selection of dining, shopping, convenience stores, and cafes/bars. Some days we didn’t even need to use our cars, and the village life has a sincere appeal. That said, there is so much to explore in the area that you will enjoy using HVH as a base for your own Maine adventure!

Everything you could want!

This house is wonderful!!! It is spacious and every bedroom has its own bathroom, which is great for large groups. The large property is beautifully cared for and the owners have set the house up with all of the comforts necessary for a relaxing stay. Don’t miss the incredible selection of adult and children’s literature. Right across the street is a Lobster Pound and the most charming mercantile and ice cream shop. And don’t miss the wonderful coffee shop right next door. Seriously, you’ll love the charms of this house and Round Pond!

Heart of the community

It’s hard to find a large house on the mid coast, and this lovely old home in Round Pond is a rare find. Walking distance to two restaurants and a co op, coffee shop, wine bar, and the harbor. Four comfortable ’couples’ rooms, two ensuite, another with twin beds and a bathroom, and two singles. Lots of family room space, enormous kitchen and dining room, great yard, and a screen house with tv and fridge. And in Round Pond, which always seems to be buzzing with activity. The house is clean and well-equipped. Your hosts communicate quickly. We had a great stay!

Cannot say enough how perfect!

Hosted our family reunion here last week and the location and property were simply ideal! The house is beautifully appointed. 3 BR have their own bath and the rest are shared between 2 rooms each. Gorgeous rooms, views, flower gardens, proximity to coffee shop, small grocery, penny candy store, ice cream , docks , lobster pound and water. What more could we want?! Kitchen very large for our gathering of 15 to cook in, living room sufficient for all to gather. All needed equipment and utensils on site. If I had to suggest any improvement it would be to screen in the large outdoor dining area because we would have spent whole evenings there if not for the mosquitos. But what would an authentic Maine experience be without mosquitos?! Walk to the back of the property at night to see the fireflies! And, don't forget to look at the stars! Seriously, our family members kept congratulating us on finding this place. Oh no, I shouldn't say any of this because now everyone will book this gem.

Great house near beaches and attractions

My extended family had a great time at the house in Round Pond. The house had plenty of room for our entire crew. A cute country store/gift shop and marina were within walking distance. Pemaquid beach is about a 10-minute drive from the house and has a nice sandy beach. The house was well-stocked and very comfortable for kids and adults. Many of the bedrooms have en--suite baths, which was extremely convenient. The owners were respinsive to questions. We highly recommend this house!

Perfect place to stay

A wonderful place to stay with multiple family members with many amenities. House is in ideal location and is very comfortable for large groups. Home owner did an excellent job making it feel like home vs. a rental. Highly recommend. We look forward to returning next summer!

Incredible Stay!

I can't quite begin to describe how far our stay at this property exceeded our expectations. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are lovely, the amenities are perfect. Jim and Sarah are lovely hosts and this house was PERFECT for our group. This is the best mid-coast Maine home base you could ask for. While we were staying, there was a local power outage and Jim and Sarah were traffic communicators, and brought in a generator and a plumber to get everything back to working order. We're already plotting how to get back to this property for another visit!

Great home in a wonderful location

This was the perfect place for our three families to come together. Everyone had their own private bedroom and bathroom. We made great use of the kitchen and large dining room to cook for our whole group. Enjoy!
