We enjoyed our stay in this rustic cottage! The location was perfect for all of the things we wanted to do in Normandy. We loved the cozy family room with the fireplace and the hosts were easy to work with and very accommodating. The location is close to the town of Bayeux where a lot of tours began. Five stars!

Thank you for a brilliant stay in Calvados. We have had a great time exploring and discovering locally(Caen, Bayeux, Cruelly and local beaches) and further afield (Rouen, Deauville, Mont St Michel andHonfleur). We found visiting locally very rewarding and enjoyed exploring Caen’s history and open spaces much morethan we would have expected. Everyone has been very friendly and tolerant of us and our poor French, which has improved slightly over the week.

Beautiful conversion in a perfect location

A wonderful week in a very comfortable setting. Anne-Charlotte was very helpful, with great tips for our day trip to Paris. The cottage is a perfect location for exploring a wide range of D day locations, with Bayeux as a great local base for all the day to day essentials.

Holiday

Easy check in. Wonderful location en garden. Privacy. Unfortunately it was not very clean (stains in towels, sticky counter) when we arrived (even if you have just expanded your family, your accommodation must be clean). We also missed place to store clothes, hooks on the wall and a coat rack.

This was an ideal base for exploring Normandy. Our primary purpose was to visit the landing beaches, a cemetery in Rouen for a relative’s grave, and Mont St Michel. All were within a reasonable distance with the landing beaches being particularly close. It is easy to go to Bayeux as this is not far at all.We booked this house because we were two married couples and we wanted two double bedrooms and two shower rooms. The property has a dishwasher, which was a nice surprise as not on the listing. Two medium towels are supplied, all bedding is supplied and beds are very comfortable. Take extra beach towels if you intend to visit the beach. The house is spacious and lovely. Be careful with the stairs as they are quite rickety, so warn children about this. We had one person who is having a hip replacement within a month and this was a struggle. There is plenty of parking. There is an electric charger available at the cost of electricity, but you need to take a trickle charger as it has a socket rather than a charging cable. All electric charges in the town were out of order for the week that we were there and we really struggled. Fortunately we have a hybrid but look into getting cards to operate the charging machines before you go as we spent hours downloading apps by the machines only to have them fail about 50% of the time. The owners of the house are lovely and friendly. Very approachable, with excellent communication before you arrive and when you are there.

Great location for quiet retreat

Good communication on day of stay with host. Arrival and check in was a breeze. Great accommodation with new appliances whilst keeping ties with the building’s origins. Everything explained and we were good. Really comfy bed in main bedroom. Lovely big garden with small dividing fence so our dog and host’s dog could go nose to nose. Separate electric gates allowed access to property so whilst hosts are close by they are also distant. We did not have any issues so did not need to be in contact with hosts other than last day when we sorted checking out. Close to Creully with local supermarket, bars and bakeries. Can highly recommend.

Top!

Also gerne wieder.... Ein großes Dankeschön an die Vermieter :-).

Wunderschön eingerichtetes Haus in ruhiger Umgebung
