Cape Rosier is a magical place. Under every rock, around every corner, under the sea wonders are to be found. Enjoy the magic of a rocky beach, the sweet blueberries in the field across the way and the sandy beach just a short walk down the road. Whether in the sun or the swirls of fog, Cape Rosier is a magical place.
The chalet is a peaceful retreat to enjoy time away from the bustle of everyday life.
The Cape is located in a beautiful area surrounded by great biking, boating, nature walks and beach exploring. Just down the road you can explore the Holbrook Island Sanctuary where you can take easy hike to see wonderful birds and beautiful lilies in the pond. Visit the 4 seasons organic farm market and the Nearings good life Center. Or just sit by the shore (or inside the cottage) and watch the boats go by- the 4 masted schooners, lobster boats and more. Watch the seals, loons, cormorants and dolphins swim past. This is the cottage that has it all for a great get away.
Most of our guests are repeat customers. Book early to avoid disappointment.

What makes this Chalet unique
It's like going back in time visiting Cape Rosier. We leave the hectic city behind and totally relax. The salty, sea air, the peace and quiet, the bald eagles, passing lobster boats, schooners, tall ships, islands off-shore.....so much to see and experience.

The Perfect Get-away!
We spent the 2d week in September at the Chalet. What an experience!
First, the accommodations-The Chalet was wonderful. It had anything and everything that we needed. If it didn't, all we would have had to do was let Rosemary know! It was spotless, airy, tastefully decorated, and felt like home.
From the deck and home, we saw bald eagles, osprey, mackerel "splashes", common loon, harbor porpoise, seals, lobster boats, schooners, kayaks... The view was amazing!
The Chalet was a perfect base from which to tour and become acquainted with the Blue Hill peninsula. Just down the road was Bakeman Beach, a perfect place for our 2 Goldens to swim and us to wade. By the beach, we saw a big, fat porcupine waddling along! We bought lobster at Hiram Blake Camp from Paul and Sandy Venno, delightful folks who answered our many questions about the region. Of course, it was just off the boat! It was so fresh and delicious! Lobster is also available a short distance away at Buck's Harbor Marina.
The time at Cape Rosier was so peaceful and quiet that we plan to return next year for 2 weeks instead of 1!!
Thank you, Rosemary and Lewis, for sharing your peace of heaven with us!!
We were delighted to meet you both and look forward to hosting you again next year. Have a great winter season, which only makes us want summer more!
This cottage is well cared for, with a wonderful view of the ocean. Private and quiet setting.
My husband and I spent two weeks at the Chalet. Rosemary and Buzz were wonderful hosts, available to answer questions, and offer suggestions while giving us our privacy. The accommodations were clean and homey, a comfortable bed upstairs with a stunning view, and a well equipped kitchen. It's in a quiet location, not far from Deer Isle, Blue Hill Peninsula and Acadia National Park. Don't miss stopping at Tinder Hearth Bakery in Brooksville for scones and 44 North Coffee in Deer Isle for a fresh roasted cup of java.
House exceeded expectations. Immaculate, bright and cheerful. Very comfortable furnishings and very tastefully decorated. Stunning location and views! Quiet and peaceful. Owners thought of everything to make guests comfortable including providing a helpful binder with maps and area information. Owners are so thoughtful: they even had supplies for dog and a comment in the binder about watching out for hidden barnacles on "tender paws" on the underwater rocks at shoreline. Their recommendation (in binder) for dining included a meal at Bagaduce Lunch and they were right. Our dinner there was outstanding. The Activity Shop delivered rental kayak and great service! We would love to visit this property again.
I have to say this place is wonderful and has everything you could want. The location is very peaceful and views are gorgeous. The chalet is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. I would recommend this chalet for your next vacation and I would definitely rent again.
A Holiday Above All Others
This is an outstanding property at the edge of the ocean. The location provided us the opportunity to both relax and connect with nature in an unhurried way. We explored beaches, nature trails, read books while looking at sailboats gliding by, saw a boat parade celebrating the 200th anniversary of the community and it offered us the chance to explore a part of America that is very special. The property reflected great care and superior management. I would recommend this as a Must See location.
We loved having you and your boys stay with us. You were fun guests and we look forward to seeing you again in years to come.
A Slice of Heaven on Cape Rosier
We were lucky to find Buzz and Rosemary's beautiful chalet. It was even nicer than the pictures and my family had a fantastic time. We have been to the area several times before but never in this specific area. It's a picture perfect setting with a short path to the water. Our hosts were available as needed but very respectful of privacy and the way the properties are situated, you really feel like you are in your own bubble. Thank you Buzz and Rosemary for your incredible hospitality and for making our stay in your chalet such a magical experience! We highly recommend as a place to stay in Maine - you will not regret it!
Tinder Hearth Bakery sells DELISH pizza, only 10 minutes away. Farmer Markets abound in our area, fresh eggs, veggies, crafts. Wooden Boat School and workshops in Brooklyn. Nearby towns of Blue Hill, Sedgwick, Stonington host art galleries, restaurants, lobster pounds. Don't miss a visit to Acadia National Park, worth the 40 minute drive!!
