Wonderful relaxing Weekend stay
Loved staying at the Little River Guest House! Very relaxing especially by the pond. My fiancé went fishing in the creek and caught 6 or 7 small browns. The furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen stocked with ample utensils/pots and pans. My dog Bella loved playing in the pond also but too cold for us to jump in from the Zip line. Next time we will bring the kids and they will have a great time.
They did very well at creating a rustic feel with all the modern conveniences. Views of the mountains are second to none. The caretaker does a great job at keeping the place tidy and well groomed. We loved the little stream running right by and the pond is a great touch. There is some real lunker trout in the pond, catch and release. It was a bit strange having the owners next door, but they did a great job at giving you all the space and peace you wanted. Their two dogs would show up once in a while for some loving which we thought was great since we are dog people. We enjoyed the hot tub which was keep clean and treated. The only thing we would change on this property is to let the guests keep the trout they catch out of the pond within state limits and market the place as a fishing cabin. I'm sure you would have to keep stocking the pond on a regular basis, but it would add a lot for some. Thank you for a great birthday stay. Randy and Erica
Very beautiful and relaxing.
We had an awesome weekend skiing and relaxing in the evening sitting by the fire . The hot tub was perfect. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house.
Just like I read on the reviews. We thought it was perfect.
Overall experience was excellent. We would stay there again. Great for a family of 4-5 with kids. Plenty of room outside to relax and unwind.
Cozy & quiet New Year's getaway
We enjoyed two nights at the Little River Guest House to wrap up 2017, and couldn't think of a single utility, utensil, or creature comfort that wasn't amply supplied. Upon checking in, we found the comfortable cabin in great condition and ready to enjoy, with clean dishes in the kitchen, toiletries aplenty in the bathroom, and the hot tub running out back. A half dozen home-cooked meals and two restful nights later, we were sad to leave the beautiful Arkansas River Valley area and all that it as to offer, especially the endless opportunities for food, drink, and recreation down the road in Salida. We're looking forward to visiting again, and truly appreciate all the work that the owners put into providing first-class accommodations for a memorable stay in the mountains.
We got here at night so we couldn't see much. But in the morning the views were amazing and the property was great. So quite and lots of space for the dog. The hot tub was great and the cabin was just what we were looking for.
trout stream on the property for fly fishing, zip line for pond, swimming in the pond with beach and fire pit. Private hot tub.
