We would stay here again

  • 5 of 5

We loved the area, the cabin is cute and comfy, it felt like home. Matilda (the owners dog) is friendly, she made herself at home and enjoys the company. While we were there we went trout fishing. The small lakes are not far. We caught our trout limit in a very short period of time (an hour). I recommend this cabin if you want to relax and get away from your busy life even if just for a couple of days. The cabin is pet friendly, saying that, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has allergies or doesn't like pet dander. Overall it's a great place to stay. We plan to go back.

Great. Kids loved it.

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location. We went rafting and hiked a 14er. Loved coming back to the absolute quiet and beauty here. The kids zip-lined and the younger ones waded in the pond.

Thank you!

Beautiful!

  • 3 of 5

The cabin was a little dirty, dust and cobwebs everywhere. It was also a little strange that they have you strip the beds and start laundry before you leave. Thought that was what we were paying so much for. Other than that the property is beautiful and we enjoyed the cabin.

Awesome guest house, very private, great for a family

  • 5 of 5

It's is always wonderful when something exceeds your expectations. This property is so stunning! There are outstanding views, a private pond with large fish to catch and release, and you can hear the sound of the Arkansas river from the hot tub on your private deck. We have a 4 year old and brought our big ole lab and it was a perfect house for us. Plenty of room inside and we spent the majority of time outside. I was a little concerned with how fast the river was moving for our little girl and dog. But there was so much to do they didn't even realize there was a river. They played in the pond, Alex digging sand on the beach and pup swimming laps. The guesthouse is decorated with love and reminds me of an artists home in Santa Fe. The owners live in the main house - and are there if you need something, are lovely to interact with, but also leave you to yourself and you feel the privacy. They built and designed the property. And good for them. It's beautiful and they did a great job. I could go on. My husband would prefer I didn't. He wants to keep this a secret so we can go back again and again. It's also a quick and easy trip into salida. Oh and coffee on the deck, listening to the river, over looking the mountains... ain't a bad way to start your day. Enjoy!
