This is a great spot to feel like you are away from the rest of the world while still being close to modern conveniences, stores etc. The cabin is nice and comfortable. The front yard/waterfront is a wonderful place to spend all day and evening. We are already talking about coming back next year.
Love how quiet and secluded the camp was. It was wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds and the pond. Watching the sunset and listening to the loons in the evening. It’s close enough to Farmington so if you want to make a trip in to get necessities or grab dinner, it’s not that far away. We had a wonderful, peaceful day and will definitely be back again.
An amazing spot to relax and take in all that Maine has to offer! The views were spectacular and the cabin itself was stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay (even those small items that you want and might not need!). Plenty of firewood to keep the camp fire going as long as we wanted, and an extremely private yard for our young kids to run around in and be themselves. The host was excellent and checked in on us very timely, while also providing clear instructions before our visit. We really hope to come back again in the future for a longer stay!
We loved our stay here. The driveway was perfect for the children to ride bike and we all enjoyed the use of the kayaks and other boats. The cabin is closer to the water than we realized and it was nice to have such a beautiful view of the pond and distant mountains. Our daughter went for a short, solo, kayak ride one evening and was excited to hear a loon. The only thing that really bothered us was the couch by the fireplace was absolutely covered in animal hair. We found a handheld sweeper and did our best to clean it before we sat down. Also the heat from the fireplace tends to overheat the upstairs. A door at the bottom of the steps would probably be helpful. We really enjoyed the quiet seclusion of the house. It felt so private and restful. We hope to come here again, maybe at a warmer time of year. Oh, and checkout was so simple. I loved that too!Thank you, Corey, for a lovely place to stay!
This was probably one of our favorite vacations. The house was beautiful and though it looks small it easily fit our family of seven. The property is gorgeous and secluded and so quiet it is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. We will definitely come here again.
We loved our visit and the whole experience. The surrounding nature is gorgeous, and secluded. The cabin was clean and well-equipped. We would definitely stay again.
Our family has stayed at Locke Ponde for several years in a row. This property has been consistently clean and full of many great amenities. The fishing is great and mostly enjoyed sitting on the new porch listening to the loons and birds singing. Already looking forward to returning.next year.
This property is a special hideaway with many great amenities. The wildlife and view are stunning with many animals that will catch your eye. Thank you again for allowing us to stay for a long weekend. It was just perfect!! 5 stars
What a wonderful place to spend some time with family. We had our annual camping trip at this cabin with my brothers family and it was fantastic. Four kids ranging in age from 2-6 and they all had blast, spent lots of time fishing off the dock and playing in the paddle boat and kids kayak provided. Cabin was well equipped and ready for a full weekend. When we did run out of some essential supplies it was only an 18 minute drive to stores in Farmington. Highly recommend this spot and look forward to returning another year.
Our family of 5 really enjoyed this unique cabin nestled in the secluded woods on Locke pond in Maine.the Host Corey was more than accommodating and also provided very accurate instructions for check in.From the moment we pulled in we had literal butterflies surrounding our car and were greeted with an amazing view of Locke pond and the mountains on the Horizon. The kids immediately ran to the dock which was the hot spot all week for fun water activities. The included paddle boat was a huge hit for the kids to explore the lake with Dad.There were also"pool noodle rafts"that were perfect for the kids self guided adventures around the dock.Hear and see the wildlife,Loons and Mink were frequent visitors. The yard is private and has well maintained grass. The fire pit was perfect for s'mores with plenty of wood to burn that was provided for you.The kitchen had every utensil you could think of, and was also decently clean and organized. The bathroom was great with an oversized tub and Bluetooth speaker exhaust fan which made cleaning up from the lake fun for the kids. The kids room, which is upstairs, had 4 beds and a few toys/board games to keep them entertained. The downstairs bedrooms were decently sized with TV in each room and movies(DVDs)provided. You will definitely feel the cabin vibes throughout the entire house from the mounts on the walls to the handmade furniture, and decorations.Grocery stores are only a 20 minute drive into town which made stocking the cabin easy.
We loved our week vacation. The camp felt bigger than the pictures made it seem. It was a great layout for us. Kitchen, living room and the porch was the perfect play area and place to sit as a whole family. The beds weren't the comfiest but I'm not sure anything ever compares to your own bed. A little stuffy at times but to be expected with a camp south facing. The outdoor area was perfect for our little kids, the beach was the perfect place for them to wade in. We raked a bit and uncovered the owners weed mats in the water, these were great for walking when uncovered from muck. Tough again because the wind pushes everything in this side of the lake. Husband caught a lot of fish, we enjoyed nights by the fire and paddle boating during the day. It was the perfect getaway!
If your the husband booking the trip fyi no dishwasher or washer /dryer. It does not say they have one and I totally overlooked it. Wife hates me now lol. The boys caught 65 bass and 1 pickerel. Nothing from the dock so go out 100ft in the middle. Cant really swim unless they had a floating dock further out its just to murky even with the mat. We really wanted to swim on our vacation but couldn't. If your planning not to leave than this is the spot. If your planning on going on daily adventures this is not the spot everything is to far. Friendly neighborhood and responsive host. The convenience store actually sells homemade indian food on thursdays, fridays and saturdays. Very good.
This is a great cabin on a quiet pond. The house is roomy and comfortable, the beds are nice. We saw bald eagles, osprey, and loons daily. The fishing is fabulous if you’re looking for large and small mouth bass and perch. The house comes with lots of both indoor and outdoor fun opportunities. We loved the porch and all the seating for meals. The fire pit is perfectly placed with plenty of available wood and seating. They also have a nice grill and a wonderful Blackstone which made outdoor cooking easy. This was great because the stove/oven struggled and there was no crock pot as expected (just the outer shell of one). When we arrived the grill was dirty, the Blackstone and cover were full of bacon grease and food pieces, and someone had thrown food in the woods. The fire pit wasn’t cleaned out and there were cobwebs in the kitchen. Not a huge deal for a lake cabin though a bit of a disappointing start. After spending an hour or so cleaning we were good to go. The owner’s Grandfather lives on the lake and came by to say hi and take us around on his pontoon boat. He was lovely and told us all about the history and homes there. Overall this was a lovely, peaceful retreat. Just needs a better cleaning crew.
Cozy & spacious Maine cabin on quiet pristine pond... kayaking, Loons, campfires, starry night sky
Lovely, quiet, cozy cabin retreat on water's edge. Breathtaking views of pond rimmed with trees and mountains on the horizon from inside the spacious & comfortable cabin porch.
Sunrise and sunset views on land and while kayaking... bring binoculars for spotting spectacular Loon sightings and songs. Lots of firewood provided for indoor and outdoor fires, incredibly starry night time sky.
This cabin has everything you need including a large entry way with benches and hooks for shoes & coats. The kitchen is open to the roomy living room area combined with a wood stove for inside fires in the evening. Great dvd movie collection for movie goers too.
We especially enjoyed the window wall that opened up the living room to the porch for lake view while inside. The porch is comfortable for relaxing, taking in the pond views and has a perfect table for games and gathering for meals.
Bedrooms and bathroom are clean and comfortable.
Our Host Corey was great! He took extra care with details about checking in & responded quickly to questions on message board.
We look forward to coming back next year for sure!
This cottage on Locke Lake was perfect for our family group of 4. This place is magical with its own private beach, canoe/kayaks, paddle boat surrounded by the exquisiteness of nature. The cottage was immaculate and beds comfortable . The host was available and very responsive. Thank you Corey for sharing such a beautiful place with us.
The 5 of us absolutely loved it here! Perfect place to recharge in Nature and get away from all the hustle and noise of the human world. Boys loved swimming, fishing and catching( and releasing) frogs and toads. I loved relaxing while floating on the water and watching the dragon flys and Loon family. Owner was great to correspond with and the camp came fully equipped and was very welcoming and comfortable. Camp is private and secluded and the pond is very quiet without much activity on it. Definitely will be coming back!
