Notes: Please use the supplies prudently and save some for the next guests. The swimming raft off the dock is not ours.. it’s the neighbors so do not use it. Do not strip bark from trees. Do not take firewood from neighbor’s stacks.
Whatever you decide to do, have a great vacation! Life is short, enjoy it!
Firewood note: Please enjoy a bonfire on me, but past a certain point, I would appreciate compensation ($) in order to keep it stocked. I’d rather have you burn my wood than 1.) run to Hugo’s for a $10 bundle, 2.) strip birch bark 3.) take wood from my neighbor.

The property was exactly as described and very nice! We had good communication with the owner beforehand and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely book again!
Wonderful experience here! The property was very clean and all of the amenities worked and were described well. The water was perfectly clear in the lake and the area around the dock was complete clean of weeds. When we visited we got lucky in Aug and it was colder so there were no bugs around to bother us like some of the reviews are saying

Great Stay
It wasn't what I expected, but was overall a great location, even though the fishing wasn't up to par. My brothers and I had a great relaxing time, - the mosquitos "brutal".
Great area to swim. Was excited for the little row boat up there but they must have taken it away. Was a cozy little place. It was very hot out, but the evening air cooled the rooms well enough. Pit toilets were some of the nicer ones I have seen. Bottom line, if you read the description, there is no reason to be upset. Would love to come back sometime.
The location is remote and perfect place to distress and rewind, bring heavy blankets, firewood not provided, bring your shampoo, conditioner. No heat in the living room.
Needs better fuse or breaker for the water pump to pump water. The fuse keep disconnect and need a little adjust to work all the time. We never use the shower because it only hold 6 gallons of hot water only according to the owner. The toilet is a rust toilet only and the wife didn't like it.
Using the map on the listing, it brought us to what we thought was the correct cabin. Some of the pictures of the outside matched the listing. The owner gave instructions to "walk in" as there was no key. However, when we opened the door to the cabin, it was obvious that someone was living there. After returning to our vehicle, the person inside came outside with a handgun and began yelling at us for opening his door. When asked if he knew the owner of the cabin we were to stay at he repeated that he was going to shoot us if we had taken a step inside. We left immediately and stayed elsewhere. We later found out that the map provided had taken us to the wrong cabin which was next door to the one we stopped at. It's an unsafe area.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience.
i thought we exchanged cordial texts and I gave you a full refund, but it obviously didn't suffice.
When arriving at a strange location after dark in a remote area its best to exercise common sense. A simple knock on the door would have prevented this. In 14 years of renting to 100's of folks this is the first time anyone was not able to find my property. The addresses are clearly marked up there. My cabin looks nothing like the neighboring cabins but i guess it would be difficult to see that after dark.
The property you barged in on had seven ( 7 ) vehicles parked there for an event and lights on in the cabin... yet you walked in because i instructed you? I have never told anyone to do such a thing. 'cabin is unlocked' is a far cry from 'walk in'.
Then you label the entire area 'unsafe'.... earlier you posted it was ' a scam as folks are living there'.. so which is it?. Both of my neighbors have owned their cabins for 25 years and i have never had a cross word with either of them in all these years.

Not sure where to start, Cold with no heat You plugged anything in and you will blow a hard to find fuse that we had to go back to Duluth to find, water was un drinkable found out the hard way, the bath house was un heated aswell and the hot water lasted for about 2 minutes.
Needless to say it was for the most part Unhabitable!
My family and I had a great time at this cabin. It was a short but sweet getaway. I really love the lake, the water is so clean!
Some things to note for future guests - the cabin is pretty close to other cabins so it doesn’t feel remote. There were people on the other side of the lake setting off fireworks - again not remote if that’s what you’re looking for.
The main cabin has one queen bed and two futons, a full kitchen, living room with TV and WiFi. My kids act like they’re gonna die without WiFi so that was crucial.
The bathroom is in a separate building behind the cabin. It had outhouse type toilets, running water to a sink and shower. The tap water come straight from the lake so DO. NOT DRINK the tap water. Make sure to bring bottled water. In this sense the cabin is more rustic than some people would prefer.
The host was kind enough to offer free firewood which was great for making a fire and roasting some marshmallows. We had fun and hope to come back!

This is a well maintained cabin with detached clean bathroom building that was a pleasure to use. The deck pointing toward the lake was our favorite, although the bugs were terrible when no wind. We loved that there was internet and the refrigerator, stove, and sink all worked. The shower in the bathroom building is cold water only, so beware of that. It wasn't all that great, so I only used it once. Unseen and it didn't make a difference to our use, but the foundation of the building is rotting from water damage from the shower as it's leaking. Also, there is no AC and the fans also didn't work due to fuse/outlet issues, so beware of that. We instead opened all the windows. How hot it was was the biggest challenge. But overall we really enjoyed our stay and the stars were beautiful for astrophotography.
Nice cabin and location for the Fall season.
We had issues with the furnace but the owner was responsive and addressed it.
Would recommend it to others.
Was not told there is no indoor toilet. My wife is 6months pregnant has to use the bathroom at least 3 times a night if I had known she had to go outside and go in a hole would never have booked this place. I did not understand running water and no toilet inside. The bugs are horrible would not recommend this place other then for a fishing trip for guys defiantly not a weekend getaway for couples linens not cleaned after a stay defiantly would not want to stay here in fact we left without staying!
