Beautiful property - owner has thought of everything to make the stay memorable. DEFINITELY walk the trail on the property - it was a highlight of our stay.
This was our first time to Ohiopyle area and our stay at The Treehouse was the perfect choice. Such a special secluded location, lovely cabin design surrounded by beautiful trees & ferns, plus many special extras like a tray of s’mores items for the amazing campfire area, fun little hidden gnomes, soft towels for the hot tub use, and many more unique surprises. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
The property was immaculate, with an attention to detail. It was conveniently located to attractions and dining. The trail on the property was wonderful..looking for gnomes and clues (you are never too old for this). My husband and I look forward to staying there in the future.
The property was very clean and organised and there were lots of thoughtful touches such as ingredients for s’mores and some local beers in the fridge. It was a great base to explore the local area and we had a wonderful time with our young kids. Highly recommended!
The Treehouse is wonderful. So much thoughtfulness and creativity went into designing and furnishing it plus the owners have ensured that it will be a really FUN visit for kids. Our grandkids loved searching for the gnomes, counting all the bears in and around the house, making s'mores. Fabulous experience.
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway! All of the little touches inside and out were perfect. Bonus to our visit, there was a pair of luna moths that attached themselves to the underneath of the treehouse to mate!
We had the most magical experience staying at this cabin to celebrate a milestone birthday with our family. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owners have poured so much thought and care into creating a truly special retreat. There were so many delightful surprises and thoughtful touches throughout our stay. Our kids were absolutely enchanted — they loved the toy and games, searching for the hidden gnomes, and exploring the nearby trails. Every detail felt designed to spark joy and make lasting memories. We can’t recommend this place enough. It’s more than just a cabin — it’s an experience, and one we’ll never forget!
We stayed at The Treehouse for our anniversary because it is secluded and rustic. From the moment we walked to the door we begin to realize that it is more enchanting than we could have expected. From finding hidden gnomes to the note left in the kitchen, every aspect of the treehouse make you feel comfortable and welcome. The Treehouse has been an amazing experience and we will be back!
An absolutely blissful experience!! I would gladly move in there and never go home!!! You can really see the love and care that the hosts put into the property and the experience. A huge thank you to Nina and Bob!
The Treehouse is magical and so fun! Every touch was enchanting and our family especially loved searching for gnomes on the private hike around the property. We came through the area for 2 nights on our way to visit Washington DC. We hiked and explored Ohiopyle including a rafting trip and visiting Falling Waters. Loved our time!
It was the most relaxing days I’ve ever spent. The home was very well appointed. You couldn’t ask for anything more!! Fire pit with swing was more than fantastic!
This house and property were beautiful and welcoming. So many thoughtful touches. The view of the woods is gorgeous and we enjoyed the hot tub as well as hanging out in the treehouse. Would definitely recommend this property!
This was our second stay at the Ohiopyle Treehouse, and we'll be coming back next year and every year. You won't find a more quaint, clean, beautiful, private place in all of Ohiopyle. It feels luxurious without losing the character of cabin living. Everything is well stocked and well appointed. The firepit area is incredible. And the private hiking trail is amazing, especially if you have kids who appreciate a little whimsy. We've stayed in a ton of VRBOs, and this is by far the best.
Had a wonderful time, the cabin was very clean and nice, fun little decor all around, would like to come back in the summer or fall to experience the surrounding area, owner of the properties was very friendly and accommodating
It was the perfect get a way for my wife and I. We will be back.

About the host
Hosted by Nina Basile
Bob and Nina purchased this 40 acre tract of land in 2005 and built their home on the southern side of the property. They have slowly cleared and developed the property with a unique hiking trail and stream crossing to enjoy all of what their property has to offer. In 2018 they decided that they wanted to share this beautiful sanctuary with others by building a unique space that they could offer guests on a weekly rental basis. They decided that a Treehouse would offer the most unique experience and allow their guest to truly experience nature. Due to the unique nature of the project and the design and permitting process...it was lengthy to say the least and Bob (a former custom home builder) and Nina started construction in the summer of 2020. The treehouse was completed in June of 2021. The Treehouse is truly magical....and they can not wait to share their space and property with their guests. The property consists of a full kitchen, one full bath with shower, large living room with vaulted ceiling, and two bedrooms (both of which are on the 2nd floor),
Why they chose this property
You won't find a more unique space to relax in the Laurel Highlands. One of the few treehouses in the area that is actually supported by trees. You will be nestled in the hard woods and overlook a mountain stream valley filled with ferns and mountain laurels and have the opportunity to explore the property on your own private hiking trail. Almost all of the furniture was built by the owner and every small detail was thought of to make your experience one that won't be forgotten.
What makes this property unique
The property is centrally located close to everything in the Laurel Highlands. 6 minutes to Ohiopyle (PA's Largest State Park), 9 Minutes to Frank Lloyd Writes Kentuck Knob, 19 Minutes to Frank Lloyd Writes Fallingwater, 6 Minutes to Fort Necessity National Battlefield….and so much more. The property is secluded and far off of the road with no noise but that of nature. Your nearly mile long private trail system will allow you to explore the Appalachian mountains and take you across Cucumber Run stream which is the main stream feeding Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle. The property also has a custom made cylindrical firepit with animals, trees, and cabins cut into the shape that is truly mesmerizing during your evening camp fire. You can also enjoy the cozy hot tub perched on the hillside overlooking the forest valley below.
