Destin Club: Happy With Our Stay
Some reviews of others gave us some reservation of the place. My wife even asked me to buy bed bug spray before heading to FL. We would like to thank the owner for honoring the initial low asking price saving us some money from the last-minute rental. We were very glad we rent the unit instead of a hotel room. Certainly, the resort is not a 4*. So, we don't expect as such. It is better than 2* hotel. The check-in was quick. The unit is quite spacious. There are two large queen-size beds compared to double beds in other hotels or resorts. The beds and sofa bed are clean. We ended up never open the bed bug spray. The floor appeared recently updated by the owner and is nice and clean. The unit has a full-size kitchen. I believe the resort is under staff. Our refrigerator was not completely clean with open drinks and leftover pizza. The new towels were not fully stocked. But the staff responded quickly after our phone call. It's nice to have 2 full baths. They are small but clean. The control knob of the shower in one of the bathrooms is functional but needs to be replaced. The room is cool with function A/C (a little loud at night time). We had no problem finding a parking spot in front of our room.
It is not a beachfront condo, so expect a little walk to the beach. But some of the reviews over-exaggerated the distance. It was just one street with busy traffic across from the condo and a short walk. The entry door is not obvious and can be missed. Guests need to check with the front desk for entry keys.
Expect some loud noise at night from the indoor swimming pool. But it quiets after 10 PM.
The main complaint we had was the internet connection. It was slow and disconnected frequently.
