Ile Saint Louis is the most prestigious and sought after location in all of Central Paris- a small island in the middle of the Seine yet away from all the crowds and tour buses . A small exclusive community live in 16th, 17th and 18th century mansions and apartments. The church of Saint Louis, Notre Dame,the Louvre, the Seine, Bastille opera , several open markets, several Metro stations , buses, fashionable shops and restaurants are all close by .
Since we purchased the apartment we have added a second bathroom and updated the main bathroom - VERY FEW Paris apartments have two bathrooms . The kitchen has been updated, windows in Living room , Dining room, door to terrasse and windows on street are now double glazed for energy efficiency. Solid oak hardwood floors throughout, and the apartment has quality furnishings and equipment . Pictures are also on our own web site.
The apartment is at the quiet end of the charming main street of Ile Saint Louis, in a small very well maintained 18th Century building at the far end of the street - away from all the noise of the boutiques and restaurants at the Notre Dame end. Real French people live in the building . It is close to the famous BERTILLON Ice Cream Store, wonderful patisseries, butcheries, restaurants, art galleries, bookstores and charcuteries. It is easy walking distance to all major attractions and to the Metro - Notre Dame, Louvre, the Sainte Chapelle, the Marais, the Bastille, and several street markets---it is only 100 metres from the Seine .
There are several bus lines close to the apartment, as well as the Metro Pont Marie or Sully Morland, Line 7, which takes you to the Louvre, Opera, Comedie Francaise and the Grands Magazins. Metro station Cite, on line 4, and Saint Paul on line 1 are also very close .
Our apartment is on 1er etage, one flight up, is 80 square metres - around 850 square feet, and as well, it has a 22-square-metre terrasse garden which gets afternoon sun . The floor plan can be faxed to you.

There are two bedrooms, each with French king-size beds,
160 x 200 cms . The double living room has a full size sofa bed, and a mahogany desk/secretaire. There is a family room/casual eating area with a table seating six and a TV off the separate kitchen. The dining room has an antique mahogany table, with 8 mahogany cane seated chairs and can seat 8 to 10. It also has an exposed stone wall, and a serene outlook onto trees .
All five rooms have access to the terrasse- either with windows or French doors. Although there is no airconditioning, the apartment's thick stone walls, its numerous windows and the terrasse ensure that the apartment stays cool in the summer. The bedrooms are quiet, both located at the rear of the apartment. We do have two fans
NO PETS, NO SMOKING and ABSOLUTELY NO TRADES. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO RENT TO ANYONE WITHOUT GIVING A REASON.

This apartment needed some TLC when we bought it in 2003 , but no major work or reconfiguration .As well our realtor knew a contractor who could do the work needed- he was also doing up a palace for the Rothschilds at the same time . We love the location , which is quiet yet very central . The bedrooms are at the back of the aprtment so very quiet for sleeping
The patisseries on our street and the newly managed Cheese shop. Watching the beautifully dressed children playing in the preschool opposite . As it is at far end of the street ,where no restaurants or boutiques are allowed , it is very quiet after 6 pm . The aprtment is very well equpped with top quality linens and china , most brought from USA

Our family of 5 have now had the pleasure of staying twice at this property which is situate on a the quiet end of this exclusive island in the heart of historic Paris. It is within easy walking distance of most everything in the central city as well as all forms of public transportation should your choice of attractions require you to use them. It is also within easy walking distance of the EuropeCar rental we used for our travels to Flevy, Metz, St. Avold, and Luxembourg. It is elegant and functional and managed by a very attentive owner who insists upon all guests having an excellent stay in France.
This is our second time at this property and we had a great experience both times. Cannot find a better location. Small kitchen but well stocked with cookware, glasses, plates etc. Lovely sitting room and dining room. I do not hesitate to recommend this property.
Our family stayed in this wonderful apartment for nearly a week during the peak of summer. There was a heat wave across Europe while we were there, and being school holidays, Paris was very busy, but we loved coming back to our apartment which was a refuge from the people and the heat! We absolutely loved the location and really felt like true Parisians while we were there - it was so central and we found our way around the city easily by metro, bus and by walking. We walked to the Bastille markets and supermarkets were also a short walk away to pick up any groceries we needed. We loved having the Notre Dame as our neighbour and most evenings we would walk past her on the way home (usually past one of the wonderful ice cream shops)! The apartment is pretty compact but we had a family of 5 and we managed very well. It fit the description and matched the photos that had been displayed and there were no surprises! It has everything you need and we loved being able to open up all the windows to get a lovely breeze through when it was hot. Jeanette was so fabulous to deal with and she gave us all the information and instructions we needed for a fantastic, hassle free stay. If we're lucky enough to visit Paris again, we would absolutely love to stay here again.

Jeannette's apartment in Paris is a gem!!! We feel very fortunate to have found such a spacious and well appointed apartment and hope to return soon. Her apartment was truly a home away from home. I could tell she visits her apartment often because she has everything you might need and was clean. This property has a large living and dining area with windows facing the street and great wifi signal. The small second shower and second toilet are a real luxury in a Paris apartment. The neighborhood is very residential and quiet with lots of quaint restaurants, boutiques, pastry shops, a cheese shop, a charcuterie, a wine shop, art galleries, and coffee shops selling the best ice cream "Berthillon". At night you will not hear the typical noises of any large city because the Ile de St. Louis is very residential and surrounded by the river Seinne on both sides which protects it. This priviledged location in one of Paris' most expensive neighborhoods is very practical for a tourist, you can walk, take a cab or taxi to almost anywhere in the city. We love to walk on streets of Paris and on the banks of the Seinne so depending on the area of the city we were visiting we would take a bridge out of the Ile de St. Louis or the Ile de la Cité and be on our way. But if you want to take a cab you can call one that comes directly to the apartment or walk a few minutes to the Taxi stand on Ile de St Louis by Notre Dame Cathedral. There is a small childrens' school playground in front of the apartment but it was not a problem for us at all, we enjoyed listening to the happy sounds. If you are in the dining and living area with the windows open you can hear them playing and singing during recess, but if you are in the kitchen, bedrooms or full bathroom you don't hear them. If you need total quiet in the living and dining area you can close the windows. The apartment has great cross ventilation because it not only has windows to the street, it also has a door to the outdoor terrace and windows that open from the bedrooms. The kitchen is large for Paris standards and is very well designed and thought out. The pots and pans are stainless steel. We had all the kitchen equipment that we needed and lots more. There are supermarkets close by. A block away there is a tiny grocery store that has a surprising selection of items. Jeannette was always extremely attentive and helpful. The quality of the property and level of service exceeded my expectations.
The location of this apartment is perfect for anyone wishing to visit Paris. One can walk to most of the major sites, and its location just off the edge of the Seine and the Left Bank, offers many possibilities for sight seeing, dining, shopping, and relaxation....AND the famous Berthillon ice cream parlor is just steps away! The apartment is beautifully appointed with lovely 'things', appliances for cooking and washing, and charming in design. It was a haven to return to at the end of a tiring day taking in all that Paris has to offer. It is most suitable for less than 5 people.
